Abstract: The present application relates to the field of cancer, particular to hypoxic tumors. It was found that hypoxia is an important driver for hypermethylation of (promoters of) tumor suppressor genes. As this hypermethylation is a stable signature that is also present in circulating tumor DNA in peripheral blood, detecting this methylation pattern is a surrogate marker for tumor hypoxia. This can be used to adapt therapy as well.

Abstract: A handle bending razor includes a grip portion, a razor head, and a head coupling portion. The razor head has a blade body, a blade assembly body, a connecting portion, and an elastic support body. The handle bending razor includes a switching mechanism which can change an angle formed by a contact surface and an up-down direction and, when an external force is not applied, switches between a first state in which a neutral angle formed by the contact surface and the up-down direction is a first angle, and the contact surface and the up-down direction become substantially parallel and a second state in which the neutral angle is a second angle larger than the first angle. In the second state, when the external force is applied, the blade assembly body is tiltable to a position where the contact surface and the up-down direction become substantially perpendicular.
Abstract: A surgical guidance device is cannulated for passage of a guidewire or pin and includes a hand grip and differential control assembly for driving the guidewire or pin and differentially driving a screw, such as but not limited to a pedicle screw, into bone. The differential control assembly resides in a housing, and includes a differential control assembly for gripping and locking or releasing the guidewire or pin and effecting directional movement (relative to the user holding the surgical guidance device) either distally into the bone or proximally away from bone to thereby drive or retract the guidewire. The differential control assembly also allows distal or proximal drive of a screw, such that one or both the guidewire and screw can be passed proximally or distally alone or together.
Abstract: A pluggable state-of-charge (SOC) indicator and methods of use are disclosed. The pluggable SOC indicator includes at least one voltage input jack for connecting to a battery, at least one instance of control electronics, and at least one SOC indicator, such as a 5-bar liquid crystal display (LCD). Embodiments of the pluggable SOC indicator include, but are not limited to, a pluggable single-connector SOC indicator, a pluggable dual-connector SOC indicator, a pluggable tri-connector SOC indicator, and a pluggable quad-connector SOC indicator. Further, the control electronics are programmable for any input voltage range and/or battery discharge characteristics.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to kits for bone graft delivery, and specifically, for near-simultaneous and integrated delivery of bone graft material during the placement of surgical cages or other medical implants in a patient's spine. The kits include integrated fusion cage and graft delivery devices that deliver and disperse biologic material through a fusion cage to a disc space and, that may, without withdrawal from the surgical site, allow for selectively detaching the fusion cage for deposit to the same disc space. The integrated fusion cage and graft delivery device is formed such that a hollow tube and plunger selectively and controllably place bone graft material and a fusion cage in or adjacent to the bone graft receiving area. The kits also include a cover plate that secures to the fusion cage.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for selecting a personalized skin care composition for the benefit of pore reduction for an individual, the method comprising the steps of determining the color of a skin surface in need of treatment of the individual, and choosing a skin care composition having substantially same color as the skin surface in need of treatment.
Abstract: A length adjustable modular screw includes a neck assembly and a shank. The neck assembly has proximal and distal ends and includes an expander component and a collet component that are slidably engagable by insertion of the expander component in a through channel of the collet component along a common axis. The length adjustable modular screw also includes a shank suitable for insertion and retention within a bone, the shank including a threaded portion between proximal and distal ends and a socket adapted to coaxially receive at least a portion of the distal end of the neck assembly. The length adjustable modular screw has a length that is selected by splaying at least a portion of the distal end of the engaged expander and collet components of the neck assembly within the socket of the shank.
