  • Patent number: 10443454
Abstract: A valve drive device for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The valve drive device has an axially displaceable cam element and an adjusting device with a first engagement element which displaces the cam element axially into a first switching position and a second engagement element which displaces the cam element axially into a second switching position. The adjusting device has a first slotted guide track in which the first engagement element is guided in the first switching position and a second slotted guide track in which the second engagement element is guided in the second switching position. The first engagement element is positively coupled to the second engagement element. The adjusting device includes a triggering device which holds the first engagement element fixedly in the second switching position counter to a restoring force. A method for axial displacement of a rotating cam element is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190299832
Abstract: A method for controlling at least two mechanical oscillators, more particularly in a motor vehicle, where each oscillator oscillates at a frequency during operation and where the frequency can be controlled by the power applied to the oscillators, includes arranging a single sound transducer at a distance from the oscillators and capturing an electrical signal, where the electrical signal is subjected to a Fourier transform and thus a Fourier spectrum is determined. The frequency of each oscillator is determined from extreme values of the Fourier spectrum.

  • Patent number: 10421511
Abstract: A production system and method for producing different shell assembly variants of specific vehicle types is disclosed. The system has several clamping frames adapted to the different shell assembly variants for receiving respective component variants, a magazine in which the clamping frames can be positioned, a clamping station by which, in accordance with a presettable production sequence of the shell assembly variants, the corresponding component variants can be positioned on the clamping frames in a respectively preset joining arrangement, a joining station by which, in accordance with the presettable production sequence, the component variants positioned on the clamping frames can be connected to each other to form the corresponding shell assembly variants, a transport device by which, in accordance with the presettable production sequence, the corresponding clamping frames can be moved to and from the magazine, the clamping station, and the joining station exclusively in translation in a plane.

  • Patent number: 10415629
Abstract: A crankshaft for a reciprocating piston engine is disclosed. The crankshaft has at least two shaft journals adjoined by respective crank webs which are connected to one another by an associated crank pin. Respective material accumulations, which in each case have a surface oriented at least substantially orthogonally with respect to the axis of rotation, are provided on the crank webs in the region of the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 10407008
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle in at least one parking process situation involves allocating at least one predetermined vehicle-specific or parking process situation-specific function to the at least one predetermined parking process situation of the vehicle. Whether the vehicle is in the at least one predetermined parking process situation is determined and the predetermined vehicle-specific or parking process situation-specific function allocated to the at least one predetermined parking process situation is presented to a vehicle user for activation or automatically activated when the vehicle is in the at least one predetermined parking process situation.

  • Patent number: 10403905
Abstract: Simplified methods for preparing a catalyst coated membrane (CCM) for solid polymer electrolyte fuel cells. The CCM has two reinforcing, expanded polymer sheets and the methods involve forming the electrolyte membrane from ionomer solution during assembly of the CCM. Thus, the conventional requirement to obtain, handle, and decal transfer solid polymer sheets in CCM preparation can be omitted. Further, CCM structures with improved mechanical strength can be prepared by orienting the expanded polymer sheets such that the stronger tensile strength direction of one is orthogonal to the other. Such improved CCM structures can be fabricated using the simplified methods.
