Abstract: A method for producing a sandwich component, in particular an inner trim component for a motor vehicle, is disclosed. The method begins with a core layer made from a foamed plastic and a cover layer which includes reinforcing fibers and plastic fibers. The plastic of the core layer has a first melting temperature which is higher than the second melting temperature of the plastic fibers of the cover layer. By the core layer being arranged on the cover layer, a multilayer composite is created. This multilayer composite can be further processed into a semi-finished product. The multilayer composite or the semi-finished product is then heated in a heating device to a temperature which is lower than the first melting temperature but therefore higher than the second melting temperature. Then the heated multilayer composite or the semi-finished product is formed in a forming tool in order to produce the sandwich component.

Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle involves directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber using an injection device, and a mixture of the fuel and air is ignited in the combustion chamber by an ignition device. The internal combustion engine is operated selectively in at least one first operating mode with at least one first valve lift of at least one gas exchange valve of the internal combustion engine, associated with the combustion chamber, or in at least one second operating mode with at least one second valve lift of the gas exchange valve, which is smaller than the first valve lift. For assisting a charge movement of the mixture in the second operating mode, at least one further injection of fuel directly into the combustion chamber is carried out prior to the ignition.

Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine includes using a 3-front combustion method. When the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber the fuel flows through an injection element with a hydraulic flow of more than 1000 cubic centimeters per 60 seconds and under an injection pressure of 100 bar and 1 liter capacity per cylinder if the internal combustion engine is used in a truck application. The fuel flows through the injection element with a hydraulic flow of more than 1900 cubic centimeters per 60 seconds and under an injection pressure of 100 bar and 1 liter capacity per cylinder if the internal combustion engine is used in a car application.

Abstract: A method and a control assembly for operating an exhaust gas system of a motor vehicle is disclosed. Measuring values are evaluated, which indicate a content of nitrogen oxides in an exhaust gas downstream of a catalytic device. The catalytic device is adapted to diminish the content of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas produced by an engine of the motor vehicle. Based on the measuring values a quality of a reducing agent supplied to the catalytic device is assessed. The method includes determining whether reducing agent has been filled into a storage tank. A plurality of measuring values is captured during a predetermined period of time, and a magnitude and a frequency of the plurality of measuring values are taken into account to assess the quality of the reducing agent.

Abstract: An air intake system for a commercial vehicle is disclosed.
