Abstract: A coupling device for rods required to be connected together is proposed, with a connecting element having bores on both sides, into which the ends of the rods can be inserted. One bore ends in an internal ring-shaped groove coaxial to it, in which an angled end of the rod is accommodated. The other bore is constructed as a screw-threaded bore, into which the rod is engageable by a screw-threaded shoulder. In order to insert the angled end, the connecting element is provided on its housing part with a releasable cover part, which can be closed and caught afterwards. A precise length adjustment of the rods is possible by rotating the connecting element.

Abstract: In an antilocking ABS and propulsion ASR control system for a road vehicle, there is a brake pressure regulating member used for both antilocking ABS and for propulsion ASR control in which a hydraulic cylinder having a piston driven under valve controls defines an ABS control space, increasing when a drive pressure space of the cylinder is subjected to pressure, and an ASR outlet pressure space, decreasing when the drive pressure space of the hydraulic cylinder is subjected to pressure; and wherein, in normal braking, not subjected to ABS or ASR control, both spaces are connected to the brake circuit of the driven vehicle wheels. The control system is activated as a result of the valve control connection of an auxiliary pressure source to the drive pressure space of the hydraulic cylinder.

Abstract: A method and system for determining optimum ignition times with regard to engine operation in which the engine is commanded, at regular, short-time intervals, to operate under conditions which cause knocking in order to be able to sense the knock limit. This is achieved, following the occurrence of a characteristic operating parameter in conjunction with a knock signal, at a frequency which is preferably significant, by storing an appropriately-corrected ignition-time value in a set of correction data, this ignition-time value lying somewhat beneath the knock limit. If the same characteristic operating parameter recurs, an optimum ignition time is accordingly indicated, which lies slightly beneath the knock limit. This procedure enables the engine to be operated under conditions which are optimum with regard to fuel consumption, without entering the knocking range with excessive frequency.

Abstract: An anti-blocking system for a road vehicle having a hydraulic service brake installation constructed as a dual-circuit brake installation with a front axle/rear axle brake circuit distribution which is adjustable to different values m.sub.1 and m.sub.2 of the front axle/rear axle braking force distribution, whereby the one value m.sub.1 corresponds to a braking force distribution optimized in the sense of driving stability and the other value corresponds to a relatively higher value of the rear axle braking force proportion. As long as the regulation is effective only at the rear axle, this anti-blocking system operates according to the principle of keeping a braking slippage .lambda..sub.H occurring in the rear axle brake circuit within the range of values delimited by the relation .lambda..sub.V +.DELTA..lambda..ltoreq..lambda..sub.H .ltoreq..lambda..sub.V +.DELTA..lambda. in relation to a braking slippage .lambda..sub.V occurring in the front axle brake circuit, whereby .DELTA..lambda.
Abstract: An apparatus including at least two electrodes determining two intervals of distance of a body relative to movable objects and activated by a respective high voltage pulse generator, wherein the spark discharges occur either along measurement spark paths or reference spark paths between the electrodes and the object. A sensor in the circuit of the reference spark paths detects a spark discharge occurring along the reference spark paths and generates an impulse which is processed in an evaluation unit to form an adjustment signal as a function of the interval of distance, to adjust the body connectable to the apparatus relative to the object to correct the corresponding interval of distance. Either only one reference electrode is associated with both the high voltage electrodes, or the high voltage electrodes alternately assume the function of the reference electrode, in order to form the reference spark paths.
