Abstract: In a turbine for an exhaust gas turbocharger of an internal combustion engine comprising a turbine housing part, which has at least two spiral channels with respective inlets through which exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine is directed onto a turbine rotor disposed in the turbine housing part, the turbine housing part is disposed in an accommodating chamber, which is formed by a further housing part of the turbine, and from which accommodating chamber exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine can flow through the channel inlets into the spiral channels.
Abstract: A seat belt for a vehicle includes a belt webbing with several belt webbing layers and, in a shoulder belt region and a lap belt region, at least one belt interior located between at least two belt webbing layers and to which a gas can be applied. The belt webbing is routed through an opening of a latch plate that can be inserted into a buckle, by means of which latch plate the belt webbing is, if the seat belt is fastened, deflected at a lower deflection point in a transitional region from the lap belt region to the shoulder belt region. A gas passage connecting at least two sections of the belt interior is provided at the lower deflection point between the at least two belt webbing layers. The gas passage is in the form of a tube that is flexible at least in the radial direction.
Abstract: In a motor vehicle camshaft adjusting device which comprises an open- and/or closed-loop control unit for adjusting the camshaft phase position in a normal operating mode to a temporarily intermittently constant phase position, the open- and/or closed loop control unit has an engine start operating mode in which the camshaft phase position is advanced during opening of the valve so as to provide a valve opening angle range which is smaller than a geometric normal opening angle range based on a crankshaft angle range.
Abstract: A proton conducting copolymer electrolyte with competitive voltage versus current density characteristics and superior durability comprises a proton conducting hydrophilic domain comprising a sulfonated poly(phenylene) polymer, and a hydrophobic domain comprising a main chain comprising a plurality of bonded arylene groups wherein essentially all of the bonds in the main chain of the copolymer are carbon-carbon or, to a certain extent, carbon-sulfone bonds. More particularly, none of the bonds in the chains of the copolymer are ether bonds. Due to the absence of ether bonds, the copolymer electrolyte is less susceptible to degradation in solid polymer fuel cells.
Abstract: A method to determine a preferred operating point for an internal combustion engine includes determining a current set of candidate operating points for a current search iteration. The method further includes iteratively determining an operating cost for operating the internal combustion engine at each candidate operating point of the current search iteration, and determining the preferred operating point for operating the internal combustion engine after a predetermined number of search iterations.

Abstract: In a method for operating an air-compressing fuel-injection internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas post-treatment system with a particle filter and a nitrogen oxide reduction catalytic converter, a plurality of internal combustion engine operating settings are provided, each having respective predefined values for predefined internal combustion engine operating parameters. A heating operating setting is set when the internal combustion engine is warming up, while a basic operating setting is set in the warmed-up state. When the temperature in the exhaust gas system exceeds a predefinable first value, the heating operating setting is changed over to the basic operating setting. In the warmed-up state, at least one further (third) operating setting, with an exhaust gas recirculation rate that is reduced compared to the basic operating setting, is provided in addition to the basic operating setting.

Abstract: The invention relates to an inner burner (1) for electric arc wire spraying of hollow spaces, particularly cylinder bearing surfaces (9), comprising two meltable electrodes which are supplied in two feed channels (5) to a discharge nozzle (6) of the inner burner (1). Abstract: In a method for producing a heat exchanger tube bundle for a heat exchanger of an electrochemical energy accumulators, heat exchanger channels and an intended profile are incorporated into material strips by deep drawing. A forward-flow distribution aperture is incorporated into a first such material strip from step b) (first heat exchanger plate), and return collecting apertures are incorporated into a second such material strip, forming first and the second heat exchanger plates. The latter are aligned in such a manner that webs of the two heat exchanger plates border each other, and the heat exchanger channels form heat exchanger tubes. The heat exchanger plates arranged in this manner are joined together to form a heat exchanger tube bundle. A corresponding pressure welding apparatus, a heat exchanger tube bundle, a heat exchanger module, a heat exchanger with two or more heat exchanger modules, and an electrochemical energy accumulator with a heat exchanger of this type are also disclosed.

In designs having internal coolant flow fields and reactant backfeed ports, relief ducts are provided in the supporting walls surrounding the backfeed ports in order to allow for ice formation and thus prevent cracking of the plates.
Abstract: A restraint system for a motor vehicle includes a support structure moveable from a stowage position into a restraint position, a covering by means of which a restraint volume formed by the support structure in its restraint position is enclosed, and at least one ventilation opening via which a medium, in particular air, can flow into the covering during the transfer into the restraint position. The at least one ventilation opening is provided within a housing that at least partially accommodates the support structure and the covering in the stowage position.
