  • Patent number: 7240608
Abstract: A cylinder liner (2) for a cylinder block has a contouring (6) at one end. The contouring (6) serves to support the liner (2) on a sleeve (4) inside a die-casting tool. When the liner (2) is cast in, recesses (10) of the liner (2) are filled by the material of the cylinder crankcase whereby preventing the liner (2) from seating toward an oil chamber (14). The invention also relates to a method for producing a cylinder liner of the aforementioned type.

  • Patent number: 7239239
Abstract: In order to make warning devices more efficient, it is known to design parameters to be variable and therewith to be adaptable depending upon the state or condition of a user of the warning information. Herein, for example, warning start points are changed or multi-stage warnings are engineered depending upon urgency. The disadvantage of such an adaptive system can however reside therein, that the mechanistic detection of the condition of the operator using various sensor systems and the subsequent output to the operator or the operator assistant system is not always acceptable, which can irritate the vehicle operator or occupants. In order to increase the acceptance by the user of the warning information it is proposed that in the lead-up to a planned change in the mode and manner of the output of the warning information, communication is initiated with at least one of the users. In the framework of this communication a user can indicate his acceptance or declining with respect to the planned change.

  • Patent number: 7237790
Abstract: A system for coupling a trailer (2) to a motor vehicle (1), in particular a trailer (2) to a motor tractor (1), is provided with an image sensor (5), which is located in the coupling area. The coupling process involves connecting a trailer coupler (4) of the motor vehicle (1) and a tow bar (3) of the trailer (2), which is detected by an image sensor (5) detecting a movement of a locking element (8) associated with the trailer coupling (4). Thereupon a process of braking of the motor vehicle (1) is initiated.

  • Patent number: 7239055
Abstract: The invention provides a structural member for a vehicle transmission formed with an annular recess in fluid communication with a fluid source and at least partially enclosing and defining an interior space of the transmission. An interior component, such as a motor/generator, is located in the interior space. The annular recess directs cooling fluid provided from the fluid source onto the interior component. The end cover includes structure defining a flow passage in fluid communication with a fluid source and also defining an annular recess in fluid communication with the flow passage. The flow passage and the annular recess are cooperatively configured for directing fluid provided from the fluid source onto an interior component in the interior space for cooling the interior component. Preferably, the interior component is an electric motor/generator that includes a stator having electric windings. The fluid is directed from the annulus onto the electric windings.

  • Patent number: 7237536
Abstract: In a method for ascertaining the position of a mobile closing element of an injector valve in a motor vehicle engine, in which the closing element is driven by a piezoelectric element for opening or closing the injection valve and a voltage signal allocated to an electrical voltage recorded on the piezoelectric element, the position of the closing element is ascertained from the ascertained voltage signal. Through a two-way valve arranged on the injection valve, a change in the voltage signal is brought about based upon a change in the electrical voltage on the piezoelectric element as a function of the position of the closing element.

  • Publication number: 20070145808
Abstract: A vehicle seat for a motor vehicle has a cushion core and ventilation ducts which run along and inside a seat surface and/or backrest surface, and each have a constant cross section ventilation channels are essentially arranged transversely to the ventilation ducts, have a constant cross section, penetrate the entire thickness of the cushion core and extend from the ventilation ducts as far as a rear wall facing away from the seat surface and/or backrest surface. A predetermined arrangement of the ventilation ducts and/or ventilation channels defines regions in the cushion core which are ventilated to different extents and are adapted to a ventilation requirement of a standard vehicle occupant.

  • Publication number: 20070143997
Abstract: Motors with high power densities and ignition pressures, for example diesel motors, require crankshafts with combined gear wheels, which can withstand high stresses, especially in their connection areas. As a consequence, forged steel crankshafts, to which tempered gear wheels are fixed by means of screws or welding, are usually employed. The aim of the invention is to provide a method comprising fewer method steps for producing a crankshaft with a combined gear wheel and to provide a crankshaft that has been produced according to said method. To achieve this, the crankshaft comprising the combined gear wheel is cast in one piece. Tempered ductile iron is used as the starting material. The strength and wear resistance is increased locally by peening, or by the application of coatings containing carbide.

  • Publication number: 20070150159
Abstract: A method and a device for performing inter-vehicle distance control on a vehicle is provided, an actual value (dact) of a distance variable which describes a distance between the vehicle and a vehicle traveling in front being determined and in which a plurality of weighting values (gi) for the distance variable are determined as a function of input variables (xi) which describe the driving situation of the vehicle and/or the ambient situation of the vehicle and/or the driving behavior of the driver, the weighting values (gi) being combined in a first computing step to form a combined value (f) for the distance variable. From which combined value (f) in turn a set point value (dsetp) for the distance variable is determined, a braking device and/or driving device of the vehicle being actuated in such a way that the determined actual value (dact) of the distance variable assumes the determined set point value (dsetp).

  • Publication number: 20070150154
Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas purification system. Intake air throttling is carried out in order to raise an exhaust gas temperature in a low-load mode and in a traction mode. The amount of intake air throttling is determined as function of an expected load demand so that, with an expected unchanged or decreasing load demand, an increased or maximum possible intake air throttling is set. With an expected rising load demand, however, no or reduced intake air throttling is set, and the expected load demand is estimated based on operating and ambient parameters of the internal combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20070144228
Abstract: A tool for cutting a hollow profile is designed both for cutting a flange on the hollow profile and for forming the hollow profile using an internal high pressure forming process. The tool has at least one cutting device which extends parallel to the longitudinal extent of the hollow profile, has a cutting edge and is displaceable transversely to the hollow profile. A side of the cutting device that faces the hollow profile is designed as a shaping die wall, against which the hollow profile bears at least during the internal high pressure forming. In addition, the tool my have an integrated embossing punch and also a perorating punch formed coaxially thereto, thereby also enabling optional embossing and/or perforating of the hollow profile in addition to the cutting and the internal high pressure forming.

  • Patent number: 7236240
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for three-dimensional photogrammetric capture of an object with time resolution, comprising a first auxiliary assembly set on the object to be captured, a second auxiliary assembly and a single camera. The first auxiliary assembly is mobile relative to the second auxiliary assembly. The camera is placed, relative to the first and second auxiliary assemblies, so as to capture a relative movement between said two auxiliary assemblies and hence the position of the object according to a single perspective. The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: preparing a first auxiliary assembly set on the object to be captured; preparing a second auxiliary assembly, relatively to which the object can move; and capturing, according to a single perspective, the relative position of the object, on the basis of the initial position of the first and second assemblies.
