  • Publication number: 20080094191
Abstract: In an indicator device for indicating an attempted theft of objects which are detachably fixed to a vehicle, at least one piezoelectric sensor is arranged in a recess between the vehicle and the object and is placed under pressure in an installation position of the object to be secured. In addition, a method for operating an indicator device for indicating an attempted theft of detachably fixed objects is proposed, in which method the piezoelectric sensor is kept under pressure. When the object is removed from the recess, the pressure acting on the piezoelectric sensor changes, as a result of which a transmission antenna which is connected to the sensor emits a signal in order to activate an alarm system.

  • Publication number: 20080087377
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating a substrate by means of a paint system, said system comprising at least two paint layers, which are applied in succession to the substrate. After said application, a paint enhancer or strengthener is applied to the surface of at least one of the two applied paint layers. The method permits a substrate to be coated in such a way that at least some sections of the paint system (where the paint intensifier has been applied) have an improved mechanical load-bearing capacity, in order to produce e.g. an adhesion point with an improved mechanical stability. The invention also relates to a substrate that is coated with the paint system, to joining methods for a paint system of this type, to joined connections, to the use of bonding mixtures and to multi-ply paint layers comprising areas that have been subsequently cured.

  • Publication number: 20080087491
Abstract: A steering system for a vehicle has a steering wheel that is mechanically connected to the steerable vehicle wheels via a steering column. An actuating device is actuated by a control device to generate an actuating device holding torque that acts in the steering column. The actuating device has two friction elements that can be placed in frictional contact. The actuating device holding torque is variable and depends on the friction force generated between the two friction elements. The reaction torque that acts on the steering wheel when there is steering intervention which is independent of the driver can be reduced or compensated by the actuating device holding torque.

  • Patent number: 7353905
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for actuating a reversible vehicle occupant protection means in a motor vehicle having a driving state sensor system and a reversible vehicle occupant protection means. The reversible vehicle occupant protection means can be triggered before the collision time and as a result moved into an effective position. For this purpose, the driving state data are monitored with respect to a state of emergency braking, and when the state of emergency braking is detected the vehicle occupant protection system is actuated. In addition, a state of oversteering and a state of understeering are determined by the data processing device. The reversible vehicle occupant protection system is actuated when the data processing device detects the state of emergency braking and/or the state of oversteering and/or the state of understeering.
