  • Publication number: 20070281825
Abstract: A toroidal gearbox in which an annular central disc with a toroidal friction surface and an annular main cylinder of a hydraulic pressure device are located concentrically to a central shaft. A radial partition wall is provided between the central disc and the main cylinder to form two working pressure chambers, the pressurization of which results in axial displacement of the central disc relative to the central shaft to apply contact pressure forces on the friction surface. A pressure piston between the partition wall and the main cylinder having an axial projection effectively bypasses the partition wall and acts on the central disc, in addition to the pressure applied in the pressure chamber between the partition wall and the central disk, thereby achieving an even distribution of the operating force in the circumferential direction, as exerted on the central disc, by the pressure piston.

  • Publication number: 20070271980
Abstract: A method is provided for producing peripherally closed hollow profile section using fluidic internal high pressure. A hollow profile section blank is inserted into a cavity of an internal high pressure forming tool and thereafter being pressed mechanically into an intermediate form approximate to the final form of the hollow profile section, after which, with the tool closed, the intermediate form of the blank is expanded into the final form of the hollow profile section. The blank used in terms of its peripheral length, possesses oversize with respect to the peripheral length of the forming tool cavity. Moreover, the blank material which is excess with respect to the blank material required for the hollow profile section blank to come to bear completely against the cavity of the forming tool is pushed into the blank interior, so as to form an indentation, at the earliest during the pressing operation.

  • Publication number: 20070272455
Abstract: In accordance with a known design, the drive torque of an internal combustion engine is superimposed on a drive torque of an electric drive unit by a planet set to which the drive torque of the internal combustion engine is fed via the sun gear. The torque of the electric drive unit is transferred for different shift positions of a clutch by driving different ring gears of the planet set. A drive train which is improved in terms of the operating ranges may be provided by having the electric drive unit be coupled directly to the input shaft via a clutch or coupled to a sun gear of the pick off gear unit via a clutch. This provides improved operation when the drive train is operated on the one hand as a conventional automatic transmission and on the other hand as an infinitely variable transmission with two driving ranges.

  • Publication number: 20070273201
Abstract: A brake system, in particular for utility vehicles is provided. A compressed-air-operated brake system (10) which is used, in particular, in utility vehicles, has a multi-circuit brake system having a front-axle brake circuit (20) and a rear-axle brake circuit (13). Here, a load emptying valve (12) is provided in the front-axle brake circuit (20) in order to influence the braking force which is adapted to the loading of the vehicle. The braking force or the brake pressure in the rear-axle brake circuit (13) is predefined by means of an automatically load-dependent braking force regulating process as a function of the load acting on the rear axle. The load emptying valve (12) is actuated by a fluidic connection (16) from the rear-axle brake circuit. A check valve (17) is provided for shutting off the fluidic connection (16) between the load emptying valve (12) and the rear-axle brake circuit (13) when a brake slip regulating process is carried out at the rear axle.

  • Publication number: 20070271979
Abstract: A punch designed for producing holes in the walls of hollow parts, the part being subjected to the action of high pressure in the interior by a medium during the punching. In particular when producing hollow parts by the internal high pressure forming process, it is normal practice, following the forming and with the part still located in the forming tool, to make holes in the wall. In order to avoid a drop in the internal high pressure when cutting through the wall of the part, the punch is designed so as to taper at an angle toward the cutting edge in its region plunging into the part to be punched. As a result, sealing of the hole occurs during the punching.
