Abstract: An airflow deflector (5) guides the airflow (6) between a towing machine (1) and a transported unit (4, 32) adjoining the towing machine (1) in the travel direction (F) and is coupled with a setting system (7) for adjusting the orientation of the airflow deflector as needed. To ensure an optimal position of the airflow deflector at all times without human interference even when transported units of different external geometrical configurations are utilized, geometrical data (11) on the external geometry and/or positional data (12) are assigned to the transported unit (4, 32). This data, at least in case of a replacement of the transporting unit (4, 32) may be called up or read and forwarded to a control unit (21) that converts the geometrical and/or positional data into setting commands for the setting system (7) to adjust the airflow deflector (5).

Abstract: A press-hardened component and a method for producing press-hardened components, in particular a bodywork component, from a semi-finished product made from unhardened, hot-formable steel sheet. Various process steps are carried out in the process. A component blank is formed from the semi-finished product by a cold-forming process, in particular a drawing process. The component blank is trimmed at the margin side to a margin contour which approximately corresponds to the component to be produced. The trimmed component blank is heated and press-hardened in a hot-forming tool, and then the press-hardened component blank is covered with a corrosion-prevention layer in a coating step.
Abstract: During laser beam welding a so-called end crater forms at the end of the weld seam. The end crater is formed by the volume shrinkage of the solidifying melt after the laser beam reaches the seam end and is switched off or repositioned. The end crater acts as a geometric notch or groove and deteriorates the mechanical properties of the weld seam, so that holes or tears in the area of the end crater can occur. The task of the present invention as comprised therein, of providing a laser weld seam with reduced end crater and a process for production thereof. The task is solved thereby, that the seam end is provided at a location, which exhibits a excessive material relative to the surrounding surface or thereby, that the seam towards the seam end exhibits a counter-running direction change of its preferred direction, which is designed in such a manner, that as a consequence of the interaction between cooling forward and counter-running seam a backfill of the melt towards the seam end occurs.

Abstract: A safety device for, in particular, nonrailborne vehicles, having a monitoring device to monitor a hazardous area and additionally the road area, located on the opposite side of the hazardous area viewed from the vehicle and adjoining the hazardous area. Obstacles in the hazardous area and/or road area are detected. An output signal is brought about if an obstacle which prevents the hazardous area being traveled through completely has been detected.

Abstract: In a module for detecting the docking of a vehicle, changes of vehicle engine torque and rotational wheel speed of the vehicle are determined as a function of time. It is checked whether the change of the engine torque is >>0 and the change of the rotational wheel speed is <<0. If both of these conditions are met, docking is detected and the vehicle can be braked. The module may be implemented in the form of software.
Abstract: A regulating or control unit actuates a stop/start unit for an internal-combustion engine in a motor vehicle. At least one sensor is provided for detecting at least one parameter which is dependent on a steering wheel position of the motor vehicle. The regulating or control unit actuates the stop/start unit as a function of the detected parameter information.

Abstract: An electrical diagnostic tool for in situ testing of a tone wheel sensor mounted in proximity of a rotatable tone wheel. The tone wheel sensor produces a periodic pulse train signal as the rotatable tone wheel is rotated. The tool has a signal conditioning block for receiving the periodic pulse train signal and generating therefrom a logic-level signal having a frequency. A digital counter has a plurality of outputs and is clocked by the logic-level signal. A plurality of LEDs controlled by the digital counter are used to determine the operational condition of the tone wheel sensor by sequentially illuminating the LEDs at the frequency and in accordance with a counting sequence of the digital counter.

Abstract: A system for controlling a vehicle that includes an engine comprises a controller having an input for receiving an engine torque input command indicative of a desired amount of torque to be generated by the engine, and an output for providing an engine torque output command to the engine. A torque sensor is operatively connected to the engine and the controller. The torque sensor is adapted to measure torque output of the engine and to transmit a signal indicative of the measured torque to the controller. The controller is configured to adjust the engine torque output command provided to the engine using torque feedback control based on the signal received from the torque sensor.
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a compression molding device (1) with a tool (3) generating at least a part of the work-piece geometry. At least one pressure measuring means (5) and/or at least one pressure space (4) is located directly below the work-piece associated surface (3.3) of the tool (3). Besides this, the work piece (3) selectively exhibits at least one first part (3.1) which is a tool template generating the shape of the work piece and a second part (3.2) forming the base body, wherein a measuring strip (6) is provided between the tool template (3.1) and the base body (3.2). As an optional refinement, the measuring strip (6) is an elastic intermediate layer with a smaller modulus of elasticity than the base body (3.2).

A vehicle with a lane change determination device is also provided.
Abstract: A toe link assembly of a suspension system includes a cam sleeve having a first and second end, a first cam plate fixedly attached to the cam sleeve at the first end, and a second cam plate fixedly attached to the cam sleeve at the second end. In addition, the toe link assembly includes a first cam washer rotatably received by the first cam plate, a second cam washer rotatably received by the second cam plate, and a bolt having a head fixedly attached to the first cam washer, a body extending between the first and second ends of the cam sleeve, and a shank fixed for rotation with the second cam washer. Rotation of the bolt causes the first and second cam washers to react against the first and second cam plates to position the bolt relative to the cam sleeve along a first longitudinal axis.
