Abstract: In a gear selection device for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle, in normal operation, gears selected at a selection lever are set by means of an actuator via a drive element, a driven element and an actuation element. In addition, a parking lock is engaged by means of the driven element. In the event of a failure, at least one position “P” of the gear selection device, and consequently the parking lock, can be engaged by means of an emergency actuation device. In this case, a force or torque limit value of the drive connection between the drive element and the driven element is overshot, so that these can be moved independently of one another. According to the invention, forces or torques up to the force or torque limit value can be transmitted, in accordance with the actuator, between the drive element and the driven element directly after emergency actuation of the driving step selection device.
Abstract: Information system in a vehicle, having a plurality of information sources for outputting respectively associated information. The information which is to be output is generated and/or filtered as a function of the state of the driver and/or of the behavior of the driver. The state of the driver and/or of the behavior of the driver is determined by of data from one or more driving systems of the vehicle and/or one or more comfort systems of the vehicle. At least one of the information sources generates the information which is to be output with a frequency which depends on the state of the driver and/or the behavior of the driver.

Abstract: In a method for simulation and assessment of the life or dynamic strength of components of a vehicle, the vehicle is subdivided into individual components and these components are modeled by means of a finite element method. The finite element models of the individual components are collated for simulation at interfaces. Externally introduced forces are measured on the vehicle, or are simulated, and the forces which occur at the interfaces or at specific points within the components are calculated in order to determine the weakest points from the dynamic strength point of view in the overall model. Elastic structures are modeled at the interfaces in order to simulate the real flexibility or the dynamic transmission response of the vehicle structure, and masses and/or stiffness data and/or elastomer bearing data for the elastic structures are taken into account in the model.
Abstract: A holding receptacle for vehicles, which, when installed, is integrated in a passenger compartment of the vehicle, has two side walls which are connected to each other in the region of their ends by transverse walls and a bottom to form an upwardly open box which can be used as a storage space. The suitability for a design which is advantageous with regard to weight is improved. It is proposed that a lightweight supporting frame having side wall structures and at least one crossmember structure is provided as the load-bearing structure of the holding receptacle, with a box-shaped insert containing the storage space being held by the supporting frame.

Abstract: A process for producing a component with an inner fabric includes layering at least two layers of fabric one on top of the other. A layer of plastic in powder form or sheet form is introduced between respective pairs of neighboring layers of fabric. The plastic has a melting point corresponding to at most the melting point and/or the decomposing temperature of the fabric layers. The fabric layers and plastic layer are heated and pressed at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure, during which the plastic layer is at least partially melted. After reaching the desired final form, the partially-melted plastic is cooled, thereby bonding the fabric layers to one another. The cooled plastic is arranged between the layers of fabric and, in particular, at least partially between the fibers of the fabric layers.

Abstract: A method and a system for resistance seam welding of a foil and at least one foil support of a fuel cell system. During welding, the thin foil, together with the thicker foil support, is moved relative to the roller electrode while resting on a flat support element. In a suitable welding system, a counter-electrode is designed as a flat support element, such as a welding strip, that is displaceable relative to the roller electrode, the roller electrode being in rolling contact with the foil support, but not with the foil. Depending on whether one foil is to be welded to one or two foil frames, the support element may be designed having a high or a low specific electric resistance.

Abstract: A transmission, for example for a commercial motor vehicle, has continuously variable drive ranges, with a power branch, and a direct gear. In contrast to known transmissions, in which power branches are combined via pairs of gearwheels, two power paths are combined via a planet set. The planet set can be used multi-functionally, since the latter, in addition to combining the power paths in a power-split drive range, is also used as a range group in a drive range with no power split. In addition, a change between continuously variable power-split drive ranges is possible at a synchronous point.
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for producing a metallic hollow body (1), in which a hollow cast part (1?) is produced by metal casting, in which the cast part (1?) is deformed by means of internal high pressure deformation in the hollow body (1). In order to improve the quality of the hollow body (1), the cast part (1?) is so produced, that it has a wall thickness distribution supporting or simplifying the internal high pressure deformation.
Abstract: In a method of operating an internal combustion engine in which exhaust gas is retained in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine and compressed during a charge change together with fresh combustion air, a first fuel quantity is injected into the retained exhaust gas by means of direct fuel injection, a second fuel quantity is subsequently supplied to the combustion chamber together with the fresh combustion air so that a homogeneous fuel/gas/air mixture is formed in the combustion chamber, and an auto-ignition time of the fuel/gas/air mixture is established as a function of a quantity ratio of the first fuel quantity and the second fuel quantity.
Abstract: In a reciprocating-piston machine, in particular a refrigerant compressor for a motor vehicle air-conditioning system, comprising a machine shaft rotatably supported in a housing with a plurality of pistons arranged circularly around the machine shaft and an annular pivoting disc extending around, and being driven by, the machine shaft, wherein the annular pivoting disc engages the pistons via a joint arrangement disposed on a driver extending from the shaft for transmitting shaft drive forces to the pistons, the annular pivoting disc being supported by a sliding body mounted on a shaft and being pivotable about a hinge axis oriented transversely to the machine shaft, the joint arrangement of the driver is located outside a main center-plane, which extends perpendicularly to the hinge axis and through the axis of rotation of the machine shaft.
Abstract: In a power steering device comprising a power steering pump, and to a method for operating a power steering device for a vehicle comprising a hydraulic circuit provided with a rotary slide valve, a steering cylinder and a control valve for adjusting the volume flow of a hydraulic medium as required for steering assistance, the control valve is arranged on the pressure side of the pump in such a way that it divides the volume flow (Q) from the power steering pump into at least a first base partial flow (A) and a second controlled partial flow (B), the base partial flow (A) being independent from the operating state of the control valve and always available for steering assistance, whereas the partial flow (B) is dependent on the operating state of the control valve.
Abstract: The invention relates to the assembly of a roof module and a vehicle body. The roof module lies on flanges of the roof section of the vehicle body and is bonded to said flanges by means of an adhesive layer. To obtain a desired, predetermined thickness for the adhesive layer between the roof module and flanges by a reliable process and to prevent adhesive from escaping from the bonding area, spacers are provided in the area of the flange. Said spacers allow the distance between the interior surface of the module, said surface facing the flange, and the upper surface of the flange, said surface facing the roof module, to be set to a predetermined measurement.

Abstract: The application of anti-corrosion base coating by cataphoretic painting (KTL) is well known in manufacturing automobile body parts. However the cataphoretic paint can penetrate only incompletely or possibly not at all into the gap in the contact areas of the components joined to each other. This type of gap is conventionally scaled following cataphoretic painting, in order to ensure corrosion protection for the entire assembly. The present invention makes it possible to dispense with the sealing in the production of an assembly of joined conductive components and nevertheless to ensure a sufficient corrosion protection. By introducing topographic changes in the components projecting from their surface in the known contact areas and then joining these components, they are spaced apart by the projecting topographic changes in such a manner that during cataphoretic painting the paint wets the entire surface of the assembly.
