When the listener module obtains a connection configuration information, the client system sends a connection request command to the cloud server through the first connector module, so that the cloud server receives the connection request command through the second connector module, and issues a gateway code. Abstract: A method for providing and managing non-direct URL fetching service for retrieving a content from a web server to a client device is disclosed, such as for overcoming geo-blocking or a Man-In-The-Middle (MITM) attack. The non-direct fetching method may use intermediate devices, such as proxy server, Data-Center proxy server, tunnel devices, or any combination thereof. A URL request may be sent in parallel using both direct and non-direct fetching schemes, in order to verify the need for using the non-direct fetching service. Direct or non-direct fetching scheme may be selected by using a file that associates a fetching scheme to the requested URL. The selection of the fetching mechanism may use dynamically in real-time updating of a Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) file. As part of an accounting scheme, quotas may be applied to a cumulative received data or a time duration of using a non-direct fetching service.

A similar chunk that is similar to the EC is tied to a reference chunk (RC) by having the similar chunk compressed based on the RC. The selecting includes evaluating candidate SCs of the set. The selecting is responsive to a first relationship between (i) a similarity score indicative of a similarity between the EV chunk and the similar chunk, and (ii) a similarity score indicative of a similarity between the similar chunk and the RC. A first candidate SC of the set includes untying the similar chunk from the RC, and tying the EV to the similar chunk. A media device may receive a video frame that includes a first predetermined region comprising a watermark and a second predetermined region having pixel values selected to reduce the perceptibility of the first predetermined region. The media device may detect the watermark in the first predetermined region of the video frame and identify one or more contiguous subsets of pixels that correspond to a first pixel value and one or more contiguous subsets of pixels that correspond to a second pixel value. Abstract: A system and method for detecting and preventing ransomware includes creating a number of watch files in a filesystem, and adding a location and a timestamp of each to an ingest log. A number of native files are found in the filesystem and cataloged, adding the location and the timestamp of each to the ingest log. Periodically, each timestamp of each entry in the ingest log is compared to a current timestamp of a corresponding file in the filesystem and a count of watch files that have change and a count of native files that have changed is made. If the count of watch and native files that have changed indicate that a ransomware program is running on the computer, the ransomware program is suspended and reported. If a command indicates that the ransomware program is not ransomware, execution of the ransomware program is resumed.

A content requesting client device accesses a server to receive a list of available sources that may include multiple Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and independent servers. Based on a pre-set criteria, such as the source delivery performance and cost, the client device partitions the content into parts, allocates a source to each part, and simultaneously receives media streams of the content parts from the allocated sources. The server may be a Video-on-Demand (VOD) server, and the content may be a single file of a video data, such as a movie. The delivery performance of the used sources is measured during the streaming for updating the partition or the allocation.
