    Abstract: A fuel dispensing system has a venturi section for removing liquid from a normal drape area of a hose assembly of the system and the venturi section has an inlet unit that is positioned in a vapor recovery fluid passage of the hose assembly generally at the actual drape area of the hose assembly even when the actual drape area is disposed intermediate the normal drape area and a nozzle or is disposed intermediate the normal drape area and the source of liquid fuel as well as when the actual drape area is disposed generally at the normal drape area, the inlet unit comprising a tube unit interconnected to the venturi section and having a plurality of inlets respectively disposed in different axial positions in the vapor recovery fluid passage along the length thereof.

    Abstract: A hose construction, coupling therefor and methods of making the same are provided, the hose construction comprising a tubular hose and a coupling secured to one end of the tubular hose, the inner peripheral surface of the tubular hose comprising an inner corrugated hose made of polymeric material and having inwardly convex projections with recesses therebetween and extending from one end of the tubular hose to the other end thereof, the coupling having an insert disposed in the one end of the tubular hose and being radially outwardly expanded into sealing relation with the inner corrugated hose, the insert having an outer peripheral surface defined by a plurality of outwardly convex projections with recesses therebetween, the projections of the insert being respectively received in the recesses of the inner hose and the projections of the inner hose being respectively received in the recesses of the insert whereby the interior of the tubular hose is substantially sealed to the interior of the coupling.

    Abstract: A hose coupling, ferrule therefor and methods of making the same are provided, the method of making the hose coupling comprising a ferrule having opposed ends and an insert interconnected to one of the ends of the ferrule so that an end of a hose can be inserted into the other end of the ferrule and over the insert to be subsequently clamped between the ferrule and the insert, the method comprising the steps of forming the ferrule from a length of tubular stock that has opposed ends by rotating the stock, inwardly swedging the stock at a predetermined location thereon to define the one end of the ferrule while the stock is rotating, and then cutting off a portion of the stock at a desired location thereon that is spaced inwardly from that one end of the stock to form the ferrule.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a plastic abrasion resistant protective sleeve for covering a radiator hose. The sleeve of the invention has an annularly corrugated external surface comprising a plurality of projections and troughs formed in said sleeve. The projections are substantially evenly distributed and have a substantially uniform size. The sleeve has a slit along its longitudinal axis which provides for easy application to or removal from the hose, and is made of plastic that is substantially unaffected by high temperatures. A method of using said protective sleeve for protecting a radiator hose from abrasion also is provided.

    Abstract: A biasing element for an exercising machine is provided where one end of the biasing element is removably disposed on a lever arm of the exercising machine and the opposite end of the biasing element is disposed on a fixed support member of the exercising machine.
