Abstract: An antenna and an antenna set are provided. The antenna is composed of a horseshoe sheet member and two rectangular sheet members. The horseshoe sheet member and the two rectangular sheet members are all made of a metal material. The antenna is made of a metal material, such as tinplate, and the antenna is adapted for receiving or emitting wireless signals of vertical polarization and horizontal polarization. The antenna set includes three antennae as above disposed on a substrate. The antenna set is adapted for polarization diversity, pattern diversity, and space diversity. Comparing with the conventional antenna and antenna set, the antenna and the antenna set according to the present invention have lower costs and lower heights, and can be designed as embedded antennae or hidden antennae.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit for transmitting and receiving an electromagnetic wave and a method for the same are provided. The wireless transmit/receive unit includes a radiating element and a feeding line. The radiating element is a metal piece having a first edge with a first length, a second edge with a second length, and a plurality of cutouts. The first and second edges are separated from each other and the first length is longer than the second length. Further, the cutouts are formed on the metal piece respectively, which makes the metal piece have a zigzag shape. In addition, the feeding line is electrically connected to the second edge.

  • Publication number: 20090079657
Abstract: A printed monopole smart antenna is provided. The smart antenna includes a monopole antenna having a plane for receiving and transmitting a signal, two conductors for directing and/or reflecting the signal to the monopole antenna respectively, and a circuit device electrically connected between the first and second conductors, for selectively switching the first and second conductors to determine an operation mode of the smart antenna. The smart antenna further has at least a groove in the ground for concentrating the current distribution and solving the influence of the antenna gain to the ground size. The sequence of the antenna pattern of the smart antenna is randomly arranged, depending on user's situation. When a plurality of printed monopole smart antennas are disposed on different directions of the WLAN AP/router, the omnidirectional radiation pattern will be obtained and the antenna gain will be increased.

  • Publication number: 20080158068
Abstract: The present invention provides a wireless transmit/receive unit, comprising a feeding connecting line, a first radiating line, a second radiating line, a third radiating line and a fourth radiating line, wherein the third radiating line is longer than the first radiating line and the first radiating line is longer than the second radiating line that provides different current paths for getting a broader bandwidth. The first, second and third radiating lines are connected parallel for enhancing an antenna pattern being perpendicular thereto, and form a series capacity between the first and the third radiating lines. The fourth radiating line vertically connects between the third radiating line and a grounding line for forming a grounding capacity. The printed antenna can be reduced in size by the effect of the two capacities. The wireless transmit/receive unit can provide a better isolation with others by the direction enforced pattern and the reduced size.

  • Patent number: 7280074
Abstract: A multiple frequency band planar antenna formed on one-side surface of a circuit board comprises: a first antenna pattern, a second antenna pattern, a third antenna pattern and a fourth antenna pattern, each antenna pattern further comprising an elongated portion and a conductor portion; wherein the second elongated portion at a point between its two ends is short-circuited to a feeding transmission line formed on another-side surface of the circuit board through a via. Thus, the multiple frequency band planar antenna can operate at three frequency bands with their central frequencies at 2.4 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5.8 GHz, respectively, suitable for both WIFi LAN and WiMAX MAN applications.
