Abstract: An appliance fabricated to improve the appearance of a patient's smile includes a plurality of simulated teeth. The interior surfaces of each of the teeth closely fits and conforms to the surface of a patient's real teeth while the outer surfaces of each of the simulated teeth has an ideal surface configuration. The dental appliance provides the patient with the appearance of a perfect set of teeth and an ideal smile without a need to alter the dental structure of the patient's teeth.

Abstract: A direct filling composite resin restorative featuring a CTE that is similar to dentin and an antimicrobial is disclosed. The exemplary anti-microbial compound is zinc oxide. The CTE of the direct filling composite resin restorative is in the range of 12-15 ppm/° C. The low CTE is achieved by high filler loading of a trimodal distribution of low CTE filler. By maintaining a CTE substantially similar to that of dentin, the “Marginal Percolation” phenomenon is minimized, which decreases the incidence of secondary caries.

The headlamp would contain an internal power source, so that there is no longer a need for a cable to connect the headlamp with the bulky external power source that is found in traditional loupe mounted headlamps.

The handle includes a main body portion that houses a motor, and a male attachment member extending upwardly from the main body portion that is at least partially received in the attachment opening in the brushing attachment. The male attachment member includes at least a first retention rib that is received in a first retention recess defined in the inner surface of the neck of the brushing attachment, and the inner surface of the neck includes a first retention lug extending outwardly therefrom that is positioned below the first retention rib.

Abstract: A method for producing a dentist tool includes simulation of predetermined horizontal, vertical, and tilt movements to be followed by a cutting tool to remove a predetermined part of tooth structure for further treatment of a tooth. An overlay is determined to fit the tooth by determining a first guiding edge within the overlay corresponding to the predetermined movements and determining a second guiding edge within the overlay spaced apart from the first guiding edge and corresponding to the predetermined movements. The first and second guiding edges are provided to contact the cutting tool so as to guide horizontal, vertical, and tilt movements of the cutting tool such that the cutting tool follows the predetermined horizontal, vertical, and tilt movements for removal of the predetermined part of tooth structure. The determined overlay is produced with the first and second guiding edges and such that it fits the tooth.

The method includes processing the data to determine an overlay fitting the tooth and part of the neighboring tooth. The method further includes processing the data to determine the tooth structure to be removed from the tooth to prepare the tooth for further treatment. The method includes determining first and second guiding edges such that the two edges are spaced apart a distance of at least 0.5 mm and configured to enable a dentist cutting tool to be guided by simultaneously contacting the first and second guiding edges to enable a guided removal of at least partially the predetermined part of tooth structure. The method includes producing the determined overlay having the determined guiding edges.
