  • Patent number: 11786258
Abstract: A cutting burr that includes a pair of axially spaced diamond-shaped portions designed to be keyed into a spindle of a locking mechanism of a high speed surgical drilling instrument and adapted to fit into a single pawl thereof to lock said cutting burr in place so as to prevent axial movement thereof and provide concentric rotation of said cutting burr without any wobbling. The orientation of both portions may be identical with respect to a center plan and diamond shape in the portion at the proximal end of the shank of the cutting tool may be larger than the intermediately located diamond shape of the other portion. The apexes of the facets of the six-sided diamond shape may be disposed below the surface of the shank of the cutting burr.

  • Patent number: 11786698
Abstract: A catheter can have a textured outer body surface with protrusions and/or indentations that can reduce friction between the outer body surface and vascular anatomy or an inner lumen of another catheter in contact with the outer body surface. The catheter can include protrusions and/or indentations on an inner lumen surface that can reduce friction between the inner lumen surface and an outer body surface of another catheter within the example catheter. The protrusions can be filled with a lubricant or vasodilating drug, and the protrusions can be configured to break to release the fluid in response to forces on the protrusion during navigation through vascular anatomy and/or an inner lumen of another catheter. The catheter can include a metallic tubular reinforcing layer with openings through which the protrusions and/or indentations extend and/or protrusions and/or indentations shaped into the reinforcing layer.

  • Publication number: 20230293184
Abstract: Various systems and methods of delivering an implant are disclosed. A detachment system can include an outer tubular body defining a longitudinal axis that includes a first lumen, and an inner tubular body that includes a second lumen extending therethrough with the inner tubular body disposed within the first lumen. A pull wire can be at least partially within the second lumen and at least partially within the first lumen, and configured to translate in a proximal direction in relation to the outer tubular body to release the implant. A radial lumen can extend through the outer tubular body and inner tubular body orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. An interference feature can at least partially extend through the radial lumen to inhibit premature detachment of the implant. The interference feature can fracture in response to proximal translation of the inner tubular body to facilitate release of the implant.

  • Patent number: 11751887
Abstract: In one embodiment, a targeting guide is formed by aligning an axis of a cutting instrument with a bone-anchor fixation hole of an intramedullary nail. The cutting instrument is inserted through the bone-anchor fixation hole such that the cutting instrument is in contact with a guide body of a targeting guide, where the targeting guide is supported relative to the intramedullary nail such that the guide body is spaced outwardly from at least a portion of the intramedullary nail along a radial direction. The cutting instrument is then driven through the guide body so as to form an alignment aperture in the targeting guide. The alignment aperture has a central axis that is aligned with the bone-anchor fixation hole.
