Patent number: 5984346Abstract: A binding for a snowboard including a base plate having a central opening and a fastening plate located inside the central opening. The fastening plate is held to the board by fasteners, which can be moved to different holes in a pattern of holes. A flange plate and a clamping disk are retained to the fastening plate by screw connection sleeves threaded into threaded bolt holes located on the fastening plate. A spring located on the fastening plate tries to lift the flange plate and the clamping disk in the vertical direction. The clamping disk includes arcuate concentric slots having a ramp-like bearing surface conforming to heads on the screw connection sleeves having convex undersides. The clamping disk has a first rotational position and a second rotational position. The first rotational position forces a toothing arrangement located at the peripheral outer edge of the flange plate to engage a mating toothing arrangement on the base plate and holding the base plate in a non-rotatable position.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1997Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignee: Marker Deutschland GmbHInventor: Alexander Keller

Patent number: 5977815Abstract: A CMOS circuit (10), which is integrated in a semiconductor substrate, comprises a principal circuit part (12), which includes the major part of the circuit components in a well isolated from the substrate by a substrate diode. The CMOS circuit furthermore comprises a power output stage (16) driving an inductive load (26, 28). A sensor (18) is connected with one output (22, 24) of the power output stage (16) and on detection of a voltage biasing the substrate diode (30, 32) in the conducting direction produces a switching signal at the output. On occurrence of the switching signal produced by the sensor (18) a controllable switch (20) disconnects the supply voltage from the principal circuit part (12). In its own separate well (46) a status memory (14) is formed on the substrate adjacent to the principal circuit part (12), such status memory (14) comprising memory elements for storage of status data of the principal circuit part (12) on disconnection of the supply voltage.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Texas Instruments Deutschland, GmbHInventors: Kevin Scoones, Guenter Heinecke, Erich Bayer

Patent number: 5970148Abstract: Novel means of achieving increased security while still obtaining a low cost, manufacturable device are disclosed and claimed. The first mode of operation is the learn mode which provides means for initial checkout with no security. In the learn mode of operation, the interrogator and transponder may be switched to a predetermined error detection algorithm, i.e. CCITT(Start Mask, CCITT Mask), and certain information is programmed into the transponder memory. During programming, all the bits received from the interrogator are shifted through the preintialized CRC generator. In addition, once the transponder response is sent back to the interrogator, the response is also shifted through a preinitialized CRC generator within the interrogator(which could be a software implementation). Because neither the Cypher Key nor the Function Key are directly readable once programmed, an encryption must be performed to verify the proper Cypher Key and Function Key were programmed into the transponder's memory.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Texas Instruments Deutschland, GmbHInventor: Herbert Meier

Patent number: 5957481Abstract: The invention relates to a boot-retaining unit of a ski binding or snowboard binding, having a boot-retaining element which is retained compliantly by virtue of a spring mechanism, and having a hydraulic impact damper which is arranged parallel to the spring mechanism and is in the form of a piston/cylinder unit. According to the invention, the impact damper contains a hydraulic medium of high viscosity in the rest state and has virtually no tendency to flow, and accordingly, cannot escape at the impact-damper seals even in the course of long rest periods. The cylinder of the impact damper is preferably provided with an external thread and is provided as an adjustment screw for the purpose of changing the spring stressing.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1997Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: Marker Deutschland GmbHInventors: Premek Stepanek, Bernd Schwer

Patent number: 5948116Abstract: A corrected digital response signal is generated from a corrupted transponder response signal by receiving the response signal an odd number of times, greater than one, and sampling each received response signal a predetermined number of times. Then, the sample values from each transponder response signal are compared to one another and a majority sample value is obtained. The majority sample value is the value ordained by the majority and therefore represents the corrected response signal value. Alternatively, if time does not permit reception of more than one transponder response signal, additional response signals may be generated from the originally received response signal by shifting the received response by a predetermined number of samples to the right and by shifting the received response by a predetermined number of samples to the left to generate second and third response signals.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1996Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignee: Texas Instruments Deutschland, GmbHInventors: Konstantin O. Aslanidis, Andreas Hagl

Patent number: 5948276Abstract: The present invention pertains to the separation of mixtures of plastics, contaminated with, among other things, mineral heavy materials such as e.g. sand or metal refuse. Separation occurs according to density in a separating liquid in the centrifugal field of the rotating suspension. The present invention provides the connection of a hydrocyclone before a separating centrifuge. The mineral heavy materials are separated in advance in the hydrocyclone and the plastic mixture is further separated in the centrifuge. Wear on components of the separating centrifuge caused by these heavy materials can be avoided, and in some applications a second separating stage at a higher separation density can be eliminated.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1997Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignee: Baker Hughes (Deutschland) GmbHInventors: Jochen Neureither, Karl-Heinz Unkelbach

Patent number: 5946982Abstract: A weight-saving crank arm having two spaced-apart connecting members extending between the pedal eye and the hub of the crank arm. The connecting members are preferably arranged at a relatively large angle with respect to each other so as to transmit the wheel-turning torque through a cross section having a large moment of inertia I.sub.z, where z-axis is the axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the crank arm. So arranged, one connecting member will carry mostly tensile forces and the other connecting member will carry mostly compressive forces during use. Due to this separation of load-carrying functions, structural properties such as, for example, stiffness and strength of the connecting members can be advantageously optimized.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1998Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignee: SRAM Deutschland GmbHInventor: Frank Schmidt

Patent number: 5945129Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of an infusion or dialysis solution containing bicarbonate and having a physiologically tolerable pH. In order to retain a solution with a stable physiologically tolerable pH even after heat treatment for sterilization, according to the invention, at least 2 mmol/L of at least one carboxylic acid ester is introduced into the solution beforehand. The solution is subjected to heat treatment above 100.degree. C., so that the carboxylic acid ester decomposes almost completely into carboxylic acid and alcohol. The invention further relates to a use of the process according to the invention for the production of a solution for peritoneal dialysis and a medicinal infusion or dialysis solution.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Fesenius Medical Care Deutschland GmbHInventors: Thomas Knerr, Thomas Wild
