  • Patent number: 6116542
Abstract: In a door system for a passenger aircraft, a door panel is mounted on an aircraft structure so that it can pivot around at least one pivot axis and the door panel is movably guided at the end of the inward pivoting movement on a lifting movement path that runs essentially in conformance with the aircraft outside contour and runs transversely to the pivoting direction. Interengaging elements on the door frame and door panel are engaged in the completely closed position, moved out of shapewise engagement in an opposite lifting direction at the beginning of the opening process. The lifting movement takes place in a manner which is favorable for installation and is not prone to problems, while retaining an essentially horizontal pivoting movement path relative to the aircraft structure in such fashion that the pivot axis of the door panel is supported on the door frame with tilting position control and at the end of opening lifting movement, moves into essentially vertical alignment relative to the door frame.

  • Patent number: 6103502
Abstract: A peptide such as in a cell-free fermentation medium is ultrafiltered with a membrane having a molecular weight cut-off of at least approximately two times greater than the molecular weight of the peptide. The peptide is retained by the membrane, and is desalinated and concentrated to provide prepurification of the peptide. A preferred temperature for ultrafiltration is about 5 to about 15.degree. C. Permeate flow rate may be about 10 l/m.sup.2 /h to about 35 l/m.sup.2 /h, and permeate conductivity may be less than about 10 mS/cm. The permeate may be recycled until peptide concentration is constant. A cell-free fermentation medium containing hirudin from a recombinant microorganism such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae is ultrafiltered with a membrane having a molecular weight cut-off of about 20 kD to about 30 kD.

  • Patent number: 6099711
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the electrolytic deposition of metal coatings, in particular of copper coatings with certain physical-mechanical and optical properties and uniform coating thickness. According to known methods using soluble anodes and applying direct current, only uneven metal distribution can be attained on complex shaped workpieces. By using a pulse current or pulse voltage method, the problem of the coatings being of varying thickness at various places on the workpiece surfaces can indeed be reduced. However, the further problem of the geometric ratios being changed continuously during the depositing process by dissolving of the anodes is not resolved thus. This can be avoided by using insoluble anodes.

  • Patent number: 6095441
Abstract: According to the present invention, plastic waste mixture is first comminuted, and if required, subjected to magnetic separation and/or eddy-current separation, by which separable metals are removed. The comminuted plastic waste mixture is then mixed with a separation liquid in a mixing tank which has an outlet for heavy phase impurities. This suspension is directed to a hydrocyclone for a first separation procedure. The hydrocyclone is optimally adjusted in such a manner that any remaining unwanted heavy phase impurities together with the heavy phase undesirable plastics, such as the PVC fraction of the plastic waste mixture, is separated from the balance of the plastic waste materials as hydrocyclone underflow. The heavy underflow of the mixing tank and the hydrocyclone underflow may be further reprocessed separately or jointly.

  • Patent number: 6096856
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the chlorosulfonation of polyarylene sulfide in which the polyarylene sulfide is completely dissolved in chlorosulfonic acid at a temperature of -10 to +20 C., then agitated at reaction temperatures in the +5 to +20 C. range for a reaction time of 180 min at the most, possibly with the addition of oleum or acetic anhydride and the precipitated in an aqueous medium. The polyarylene sulfide is preferably poly-p-phenylene sulfide. The invention also relates to chlorosulfonated polyarylene sulfide produced by this process, which dissolves in a quantity of 10 to 50 wt % in N-methyl pyrrolidone and has a mean molecular weight Mw of >50,000 g/mol. Finally, the invention also relates to the use of chlorosulfonated polyarylene sulfide for the production of molding, foils, fibres or diaphragms with a proton conductivity in the 2 to 200 mS/cm range.

  • Patent number: 6097230
Abstract: A combined D-type latch and D-type flip-flop circuit where the latch setup-and-hold time is independent of the clock state. This is accomplished in one method by rerouting the data path to the Master to provide equivalent delays to both the Master and the Slave. In a second method, a clocking circuit provides on-board clocking where the data ia always latched first into the Slave, and after a fixed delay, the data are latched into the Master.

  • Patent number: 6090190
Abstract: A device for establishing a flange connection, having a bearing which can act on a first flange, a counter-bearing which can act on a second flange, and a connecting lever between the two bearings is described. The invention is distinguished by the fact that the connecting lever is a lever with a drawing element. The drawing element and the lever each have a first and second end. The drawing element's first end engages the bearing and its second end jointedly mounts in between the first and second ends of the lever. The counter-bearing has at least one contact location for the first end of the lever and a recess for the drawing element.

  • Patent number: 6083374
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for maintaining constant concentrations of substances contained in an electrolytic treatment bath, preferably in baths with aqueous solutions. In order to regenerate the continual depletion of chemicals, substance concentrates are added to the baths according to known methods. The rapid increase in concentrations of damaging substances in the processing solution is disadvantageous. In order to reduce this build-up, a further metering method is known, namely the continuous replacement of bath solution by creating a bath overflow. The addition of bath solution with the bath concentration is balanced out by the overflow. As a consequence of evaporation and entrainment this method also leads to the fact that the operating concentration cannot be maintained for a long period of time in chemically critical baths.

  • Patent number: 6081257
Abstract: To determine the position of a control stick which can be adjusted in three axes, reliably and accurately in all three axes in a constructionally simple, compact and light-weight manner by means of a single sensor in an opto-electronic fashion, the sensor according to the invention contains a beam emitter which is fixedly connected with the control stick and emits at least two mutually spatially separate light beams. A stationary, light-sensitive detector mosaic situated along the whole adjusting range of the control stick in the beam path of both light beams, determines the position coordinates of the two light spots generated thereon by the light beams. An analyzing circuit determines the rolling, pitching and yawing position of the control stick from the position coordinates of the two light spots.

  • Patent number: 6077359
Abstract: A method of treatment of printed circuit boards or conductor films with a chemical, electrolytic, or rinsing treatment liquid, and to a device for carrying out the method, where the printed circuit boards or conductor films are transported in a horizontal direction by transport means, In order to accelerate these processes, the surfaces of the printed circuit boards or conductor films must be exposed to a macroflow in order to apply active treatment liquid. Furthermore, the micromaterial exchange into the diffusion layer must be reinforced. This exchange is brought about by the use of hydrodynamically acting cavitation generators, which form cavitation bubbles in the liquid jets. The treatment liquid is set into an eddy current movement in the generators because the treatment liquid is applied at high pressure in a circuit through the nozzles generating the cavitation bubbles, and is conveyed to the surface in a large quantity.

  • Patent number: 6077443
Abstract: In a method and device for monitoring a vascular access during a dialysis treatment, pressure pulses generated by a balancing device connected in a dialysis fluid inlet line and drain line are monitored in the extracorporeal blood circulation path. The pressure pulses are detected with a pressure sensor in the venous blood line and are analyzed in an analyzer unit. When there is a characteristic change in pressure pulses in the extracorporeal blood circulation path, a faulty venous access is deduced, i.e., the needle has slipped out. Upon a faulty venous access condition, an alarm generator generates an acoustic and/or optical alarm, and the blood flow in the extracorporeal circulation is interrupted.
