    Abstract: This invention relates to an intake means for a reciprocating internal combustion having a plurality of cylinders having cylinder heads in each of which there are provided at least two charging ducts (14, 15), provided with inlet valves, for intake air for the respective cylinder, of which charging ducts at least one is designed as a swirl duct, one of the charging ducts (14, 15) being controllable via a throttle valve (18) at an associated intake passage (4, 3). In order to achieve a simple design along with a favorable configuration of the valves in terms of space, the intake passages (3, 4) and the charging ducts (14, 15) are incorporated in a cast intake manifold (1) with the intake passages (3, 4) and the charging ducts (14, 15), cylinder by cylinder, being separated from another by means of partitions (2, 16), and a control valve (18) for one intake passage (4) being positioned next to an uncontrolled intake passage (3) at the inlet end to the intake manifold (1).

    Abstract: An apparatus is provided for the wet-mechanical separation of solids within a parting liquid into floats and sinks according to their density which includes a container rotatable about an axis provided with at least one opening for the admission of said solids to be separated and at least one separate opening for the discharge of the sinks, the floats and the parting liquid. A screw conveyor for separating the solids is arranged in the container. The screw conveyor is rotatable about the container axis with one set of helices for engaging the floats and another set of helices for engaging the sinks. A diaphragm plate is arranged axially on the screw conveyor between the admission opening for the solids to be separated and the discharge opening for the sinks such that one part of the screw conveyor conveys the sinks to the sinks discharge opening with its helices and another part of the screw conveyor conveys the floats to the floats discharge opening with its helices.

In order to create a compact device that effectively prepares the straw material, there is an aggregate 3 provided with a central roll 5, to which there are assigned planetary rolls 6, 7 arranged around part of the outer circumference and rotating in the opposing direction, and the straw material is led into the clearance zone between the planetary rolls 6, 7 and the central roll 5. In order to improve preparation, the central roll 5, as well as the planetary rolls 6, 7, are provided with a surface structure matched to one another. The aggregate 3 comprises all components necessary for preparation and can be pre-assembled and installed in a grass-matting machine in vibration-isolated fashion via the elastic support 20.
