  • Patent number: 11126982
Abstract: A system and method provide for enhanced in-lobby-teller (ILT) machines. A banking system includes a local switch, a bank core, a teller terminal, and an ILT machine. The teller terminal allows a bank teller to approve customer requests entered at an ILT. The ILT receives requests and determines if teller approval is needed for the request. If so, the request is forwarded to a teller/teller terminal. When approved, an indication is set in the banking request and the now approved request is sent back to the ILT machine. The ILT machine detects the approval indication and transmits the request to the external-partner switch. This switch returns the transaction request to the local bank switch for forwarding to the bank core. The core may update account information associated with the banking request and then route it back to the ILT where any remaining tasks of the transaction request are completed.

  • Patent number: 10970975
Abstract: A managing computing device positioned in an ATM can receive a dispense request for an amount of currency and account information from a user. A controller of a currency dispenser can generate a first number. The first number, the dispense request, and the account information can be sent to a remote, host computing device that shares a secret key with the controller. The host device can generate a first message authentication code (MAC) based on at least one of the first number and the amount of currency and can send it to the controller. The controller can generate a second MAC based on at least one of the first number and the amount of currency, confirm identity between the first and second MACs, and control the currency dispenser to dispense the amount of currency to the user.

  • Patent number: 10963851
Abstract: A cash-dispensing banking terminal has a housing, a transmitter, a receiver, a cash dispenser, and a processor to control the cash dispenser. A pre-created transaction request was earlier created with a mobile device before a banking customer and the mobile device arrive at the cash-dispensing banking terminal. A remote computing device authenticates and authorizes the transaction request before the customer and the mobile device arrive at the cash-dispensing banking terminal. When the transaction is authenticated and authorized, a remote computer generates an executable transaction request and generates and sends a transaction identifier associated with an executable transaction request to the mobile device. The receiver receives the transaction identifier from the mobile device, when the customer is at the banking terminal. The remote computer and/or other devices verify the transaction identifier is valid. The banking terminal performs the transaction request while the customer is at the banking terminal.

  • Patent number: 10773912
Abstract: A center-alignment apparatus for use in an ATM has a transport mechanism to transport a document into the ATM. One or more plates operable in tandem to move the document toward a centerline of a path the document is to travel. Edge-detection sensor(s) on the plate sense an edge of the document when the plate(s) is moved toward the centerline. A translate/rotate mechanism translates and rotates the document while the translate/rotate mechanism transversely moves the document toward the center until another edge-detection sensor detects an edge of the document to create a parallel-aligned document. The control logic controls the plate(s) to centers the parallel-aligned document about the centerline to create a centered document.

  • Patent number: 10710827
Abstract: An embodiment includes an apparatus in an ATM to transport a document. The apparatus includes a feed wheel, a stripping tire, a clutch outer-hub and a clutch inner-hub. The feed wheel may be rotated by a first-rotational driver to move the document in a forward direction while the stripping tire is rotated by movable contact with the feed wheel. The clutch inner-hub prevents the stripping tire from rotating in a direction to cause the document to move in a reverse direction when the first-rotational driver rotates the feed wheel. Alternatively, the stripping tire is rotated by a second-rotational driver to move the document in the reverse direction when the feed wheel is not rotated by a first-rotational driver while the clutch outer-hub prevents the stripping tire from rotating in a direction to cause the document to move in the forward direction.
