A watertight mount includes a mounting base including a flange and a socket having an interior surface including mating threads. The mount may include a base plate coupled with the mounting base, the base plate defining an opening through which the socket passes. The mount may also include a gasket coupled between the base plate and the mounting base, the gasket defining an opening through which the socket passes, and the base plate may be releasably coupled with the mounting base through a spa wall. The base plate may be coupled with the mounting base using a connector, such as a nut defining a threaded hole that matches securing threads on an exterior surface of a barrel shaped socket in the mounting base.

Abstract: Systems and techniques to wirelessly provide audio in a spa. A system includes an audio system coupled with a spa, and a wireless communication system communicably coupled with the audio system and with a remote audio source, wherein the wireless communication system provides audio signals from the remote audio source to the audio system, and a volume of the audio system is controlled locally at the spa without affecting a volume indication at the remote audio source.

Abstract: Systems and techniques to provide a flexing support in a spa, such as a flexing spa headrest. In general, in one implementation, a system includes a surface defining a multi-level recess including a primary recess and secondary mounting recesses, and a pillow including a flexible concave pad and mounts that couple the flexible concave pad with the surface, the secondary mounting recesses receiving the mounts such that the flexible concave pad is suspended above the primary recess, a curved edge of the flexible concave pad contacts the surface, and the flexible concave pad mechanically flexes concavely between the mounts and about the curved edge when force is applied.

Abstract: A pump priming system may include two or more pumps. In one example, a system for pump priming can include a first pump and a second pump. Each pump can have an inlet adapted for a suction force and an outlet adapted for a pressure force. The system can include a tube or bleeder, in which a first end of the tube is connected to the outlet of the first pump and a second end of the tube is connected to the inlet of the second pump. The tube can be adapted for a flow from the first pump to the second pump. The tube can be capable of removing air from the first and second pumps.

Abstract: A spa system controlled by capacitive sensing. In one implementation, a spa control system includes a capacitive sensor to receive input from a spa user. The capacitive sensor is operable to sense a change in capacitance due to an object being in proximity with the capacitive sensor. The system includes a control unit coupled to the capacitive sensor to control at least one spa function.

Abstract: A peripheral device for a spa makes use of inductance for power and/or control. In an embodiment, a peripheral device includes a magnetic field source positioned in a region on an externally facing side of a spa shell and configured to generate a first magnetic field. The peripheral device includes a peripheral module, such as a light or other feature. The module includes an inductor configured to generate a second magnetic field based on the first magnetic field, a converter configured to convert the second magnetic field into a current, and a peripheral feature configured to be powered by the current.

Abstract: Systems and methods to filter water. A filtration device for a floodable compartment having a water inlet and a water outlet can include a removable filter for being positioned at or near the water outlet of the compartment, a strainer having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is configured to at least partially surround the filter near the water outlet, and wherein the second end is configured to contact the compartment at least partially around the filter at a point in the compartment between the water inlet and the water outlet. The filtration device can be implemented as a water filtration system for a pool or spa, where the water inlet can be from the pool or spa, and the water outlet can be to a pump.

Abstract: Systems and techniques to simply, easily and quickly attache and detach a speaker to a mounting location. A speaker bracket can provide a pivot point for the speaker that also serves as an audio signal connection point. The speaker bracket can be built in a robust fashion and can include a receptacle that is mounted on a surface, such as an indoor or outdoor wall, on the side of a pool or spa, or in any other suitable location. The speaker bracket can also include a support that can be attached and detached from the receptacle. When attached, the support rotates about the receptacle via a pivot point. A positioning mechanism can be included that allows the support to be removably fixed or locked into a desired position relative to the receptacle.

Abstract: A tactile therapy system for use in a spa, hot tub, or pool. The tactile therapy system is based, at least in part, on the hand or foot maps specified in the reflexology art. The system thus includes a pattern of protrusions configured in accordance with reflexology hand map or foot map on which an individual may apply his or her hands or feet. The reflexology-based tactile therapy system may optionally be combined with hydrotherapy, by placing hydrotherapy jets among the pattern of protrusions.
