Abstract: Devices, systems, and computer readable mediums facilitate remote control code updating for a host remote control device a new or updated sink device is added to a system. A staging server storing computer instructions which instantiate a sink code engine (SCE). The SCE configures the host to perform sink remote code retrieval operations including detecting a coupling of a given sink to the host, receiving sink data, searching for and retrieving sink remote data, and programming the host remote with the sink remote data. If unavailable, the the staging server is queried for the sink remote data and the sink remote data is retrieved from the staging server, and the host programs the host remote with the sink remote data. Upon such programming, the host remote can control at least one function of the sink device.

Abstract: A support tray system includes a load lift frame attached with a plurality of wheels. The support tray system further includes a support tray including a vertical portion having a first edge and a second edge and a horizontal portion extending from the second edge of the vertical portion. The horizontal portion includes a rib for stiffening the horizontal portion, a groove for supporting an article, and a retaining feature opposite the vertical portion. The horizontal portion is removably coupled to a lifting portion of the load lift frame. The support tray system further includes one or more extenders extending between the article and the horizontal portion.

Abstract: A method for optimizing satellite signal performance in a satellite transmission system. The method includes: obtaining signal data from at least some of the plurality of customer receivers, measuring the signal data from each of the signal beams that were obtained; analyzing metadata from the components of the satellite transmission system, signal source front end controls, and spectral sampling; identifying signal degradation due to weather effects from the signal data of actual spot beam coverage using the measured signal data and the analyzed metadata; and predicting remediation actions to correct the signal degradation due to the weather effects.

Abstract: System and methods are disclosed that improve the speed, efficiency and usefulness of digital video recording systems. In some embodiments, during recording of a video capturing live action, a video recorder receives an indication of selection of a dynamic in-point selection user interface element. The video recorder determines an in-point for the video based on when the indication of the selection of the dynamic in-point selection user interface element was received. The video recorder then stops recording of the video in response to user input indicating to stop recording of the video. After stopping recording of the video, in response to user input indicating to start playing the video that was recorded, the video recorder starts playing the video from the in-point instead of a beginning of the video.

Abstract: Disclosed is a social networking system that allows a user of the social networking system to share media content with other users of the social networking system. A user can buy media content, e.g., a movie, offered in the social networking system by a content originator, who is a producer of the media content, or a content provider, who is a distributor or provider of the media content. The user can then share the media content with other users of the social networking system. For example, the user may sell or rent the movie bought by the user to friends of the user in the social networking platform. Further, the user may sell or rent the media content for profit.

Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and media for allocating complimentary data to subscribers to prevent them from being put in throttling mode. A method includes identifying, from subscribers of a wireless network, one or more subscribers that each have used at least a first predetermined percentage of their respective data quotas for a billing cycle; and predicting that at least one subscriber of the one or more subscribers is to exceed the respective data quota by the end of the billing cycle. The method further includes determining a size of complementary data to be allocated to each of the at least one subscriber such that at least a second percentage of the at least one subscriber is not to exceed the respective data quota; and allocating the complimentary data with the determined size to the at least one subscriber.

Abstract: Processes, systems, and devices create personalize content for users. A virtual meeting room can be hosted and can include content for a user account authenticated to a user device. Replacement content may be selected by comparing metadata of replacement content with metadata generated in response to a previous meeting with the user account. A segment in the content is replaced with the replacement content to generate personalized content. The personalized content including the selected replacement content is sent to the user device. The replacement content can include content related to a previously diagnosed condition of a user associated with the user account. The replaceable segment in the content comprises content for display in a waiting room of the virtual meeting room.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to methods and systems for distributing network connectivity from a gateway. The network access system can include a gateway with the ability to support regulating network access to various devices. The network access functionality can be configurable and customizable to various users or devices. The gateway can connect to a source and determine the bandwidth. Using the determined bandwidth, the gateway can allocate the bandwidth among the devices according to a priority order of the devices. In some implementations, the gateway can receive customizable features from the user for bandwidth allocation to devices connected the gateway. The gateway can track the network usage by MAC address of a device and disconnect the device from the network when the network usage reaches a threshold.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods for identifying content for impact events to users are described. A system may include a set top box (“STB”), an event server (“ES”), a stats server (“STATS”), and a user device (“UD”). The STB instantiates a preference application which determines a first user preferred first entity (“1UPFE”). Based on the 1UPFE a results implication application, instantiated by the STB, requests the ES to search for first events that correspond to the 1UPFE, requests an impact analysis of search results received from the ES, and notifies the UD when the impact analysis identifies an impact event. The STB may access user preference information to determine the 1UPFE. The UD may request a content server (“CS”) to provide content for the impact event to the UD, store the content, and obtain and present additional data for the impact event to the user.

Abstract: Systems, devices and automated processes are described for automatically generating discussion topics such as questions or the like that are related to particular media programs being watched by one or more viewers. The questions are generated by a large language model (LLM) or similar artificial intelligence (AI) construct executed by a content provider, by the viewer's device, or by another service. The automatically-generated questions can greatly improve the viewer's experience by provoking thought or discussion, and by fostering a community atmosphere related to the particular program being viewed.

Abstract: A technique is described for improved issue reporting by a receiving device such as a set-top boxes for satellite and cable television services. In an example embodiment, the receiving device generates an issue report based on internal operational logs, captured screens and/or video of a visual output, and a recording of the user's voice that includes a description of the issue they are experiencing. This issue report can be generated as an object file that can then be transmitted, via a communications network, to an issue reporting platform for processing, for example, by a technical support representative or an automated troubleshooting system.

Abstract: In one example, an automated process comprises linking, by a device configuration manager (DCM), an account of a guest to a unique identifier of the guest received from a property management system (PMS). The DCM stores configuration data of a playback device in association with the account in response to the playback device being configured while assigned to the guest. The configuration data identifies a content application installed on the playback device. An authorization prompt can authorize storage of a login credential for the content application. The login credential can be stored in response to receiving the authorization. The content application is deleted from the playback device in response to a departure of the guest. Other examples and related methods are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A method may include receiving a network alert associated with a cloud network configured to provide a plurality of data streams to user devices and including one or more network components. The network alert may include request data associated with one or more requests received from respective user devices. The method may include determining a network status of the cloud network indicating a network load. The method may include providing the request data and/or the network status to a machine learning model configured to assign a priority score of each data stream. The method may include determining a high-priority data stream and a second data stream. The method may include providing first instructions indicating that the high-priority data stream is to be provided to a first user device according to respective requests.

Abstract: A facility for selectively suppressing notifications on a portable device is described. The facility accesses data characterizing the condition of the portable device. The facility infers from the accessed data that that the portable device is being carried by a person who is viewing content being played by a media player device. In response to this inference, the facility determines whether notifications should be suppressed on the portable device. If the facility determines that notifications should be suppressed on the portable device, it causes a wireless communication to be transmitted to the portable device instructing the portable device to suppress notifications.

Abstract: Various arrangements for performing dynamic volume control are provided. Audio characteristics of audio content being output to a user may be identified. Adjustments made to an audio volume setting by the user while the audio content is being output to the user can be monitored. A machine learning model can be trained based on the adjustments made to the audio volume setting by the user that are mapped with the audio characteristics of the audio content. After the machine learning model is trained, the audio volume setting can be adjusted based at least in part on the trained machine learning model analyzing audio content.

Abstract: Described herein are method, systems, and media for recommending channels to a new user in a streaming service. In an embodiment, an exemplary method includes identifying, from a plurality of existing users of the streaming service, one or more existing users that each are similar to a new user of the streaming service based on their respective profiles; identifying one or more channels recommended to each of the one or more identified existing users; and displaying, on a streaming device of the new user, at least one channel of combined channels of the one or more channels recommended to each of the one or more identified existing users.

Abstract: Improved technical functionality is provided to dynamically select and seamlessly play advertisements immediately before playing of a recorded program upon selection of the recorded program for playing, or upon other detected events and conditions associated with the set-top-box (STB) or user. In some embodiments, this is performed by using metadata which may be delivered to and stored on a digital video recorder (DVR) prior to recording the program, providing a technical solution to enable opportunities for additional advertisement impressions. Playing of the advertisement may also or instead occur upon the recorded program finishing playing. Thus, the technical solution provides the additional opportunity for the content creator and/or the satellite television or cable service provider to sell advertising spots in addition to those already sold for breaks within the recorded program.

Abstract: System, methods, and machine-readable media to facilitate adaptive content composite interaction with respect to digitally distributed content are disclosed. Discovery may be performed, and events specified for digital distribution may be detected. A particular endpoint identifier mapped to media devices may be detected. Events may be determined as a function of access specifications. Content objects corresponding to the events may be received from a remote system via a network. Content composites corresponding to mapping specifications may be created for each content object with selecting and configuring an adaptable content object with the content object to form a content composite to facilitate presentation of the content composite.

Abstract: A content page management system is described herein. The system may identify a set of content presentation devices connected to a selected network. The system may receive an indication of content pages associated with the selected network that each include at least one instance of content, wherein a subset of content pages are live content pages. The system may receive input indicating that at least one content page is to be changed and may determine whether the content page is a live content page. In response to a determination that the content page is a live content page, the system may identify a subset of the set of content presentation devices that are currently accessing the at least one content page and cause the subset of content presentation devices to change their display of the content based on the identified changes. The system may update a data representation of the at least one content page based on the received input.

Abstract: Described herein are methods, systems, and media for filtering content items in a streaming service. In an embodiment, an exemplary method include classifying a user of a streaming service into one of a plurality of groups based on watch behavior of the user in a first past period, each of the plurality of groups being associated with a tag; and recommending channels to the user based on watch behavior of the user in a second past period, each of the plurality of channels being associated with a tag. The method further includes removing one or more channels from the recommended channels, each removed channel being associated with a tag contrary to the tag associated with the group that the user has been classified into; and displaying one or more content items from each of remaining channels on a streaming device of the user. The disclosure also discloses embodiments of flagging channels that conflict with user classifications.
