Abstract: Apparatus are described for mounting an object to a structure having a railing. The apparatus includes a base attachable to the object and configured for placement on the structure proximate the railing. The apparatus further includes an adjustable compression mechanism positioned between the base and the railing configured to secure the base to the structure with a selected force. The mechanism includes a first plate on the base, a second plate movable relative to the first plate for producing a selected height of the mechanism and a threaded member attached to the first plate and the second plate. The threaded member is configured to move the second plate relative to the first plate to achieve the selected height and apply the selected force.

Abstract: Various arrangements for testing video decoder device functionality are presented. A video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test may be received. The received video frame may be segmented into a plurality of blocks. A first value may be calculated for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block. The first value may be compared to a first reference value. The first reference value may correspond to a first reference block of one or more reference frames. Video decoder functionality of the video decoder device may be determined to be functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.

Abstract: Multi-angle levels and plumbing methods are described. In one aspect, a multi-angle level has a body made up of a base section and a rotating section rotatably secured to the base section. A leveling mechanism is disposed on the rotating section.

Abstract: Monitoring user activity on a mobile device is described. In one aspect, video content is received and played to a user of the mobile device. The monitoring activity detects an interruption of playback of the video content and determines an event associated with the interruption. The event is stored in the mobile device and communicated to a remote device.

Abstract: A device for mounting an antenna to a rail is provided. The device includes a first clamp member and a second clamp member. The first clamp member includes a planar base plate having a first surface and a second surface. The planar base plate has at least two slots spaced apart on a longitudinal axis. At least two extension sections extend from the first surface of the planar base plate and being spaced apart along the longitudinal axis and closer to a center than the at least two slots. Each extension section includes a patterned cutout area configured to receive the rail. A plurality of threaded fasteners extend from the first surface of the planar base plate and being positioned outside the patterned cutout area along a transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The second clamp member has a plurality of through-holes configured to receive the plurality of threaded fasteners and a planar surface facing toward the first surface of the first clamp member.

Abstract: Various embodiments of apparatus and/or methods are described for remotely controlling an entertainment device using a mobile communication device. A user utilizes a mobile communication device to input information that requests manipulation of playback of content outputted for presentation by an entertainment device. The mobile communication device transmits the user input to the entertainment device, and responsive to receiving the user input, the mobile communication device manipulates playback of the video content.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for providing simulated three-dimensional images on a two-dimensional display screen without the use of special filters or overlays on the display or special eyewear. Images having different focal points are displayed as pictures and switched between rapidly, such that the human eye automatically adjusts to focus on each picture in succession. As the pictures are presented sequentially, the viewer may perceive that the display shows images at different depth planes. The number of depth planes may vary between embodiments.

Abstract: An RF connector on a circuit board is provided. The RF connector includes a socket member, which includes a conductive sleeve comprising a top portion, a bottom portion, a plurality of springs connecting the top portion to the bottom portion. The RF connector also includes a base inside the conductive sleeve comprising a matching hole configured to match to a conductive pin of a plug member. The RF connector further includes an end portion electrically coupled to the circuit board. The end portion is mounted on the circuit board. The RF connector also includes a middle portion connected between the socket member and the end portion.

The first socket member includes a conductive sleeve comprising a top portion, a bottom portion, and a plurality of springs connecting the top portion and the bottom portion. The first socket member also includes a base inside the conductive sleeve comprising a first matching hole configured to match to a first conductive pin of a first plug member. The connector also includes a second socket member. The second socket member includes a second matching hole configured to match to a second conductive pin of a second plug member, and a conductive body having outer threads configured to match to inner threads of the second plug member. The connector further includes a middle portion connected between the first socket member and the second socket member, the middle portion extending radically outwardly from a periphery of the middle portion.

Abstract: A method for replacing audio data within a recorded audio/video stream is presented. In the method, a first audio/video stream including audio data, video data, and supplemental data is stored. Location information is received which references the supplemental data to identify a location within the first audio/video stream. The location information is received in a data file separately from the first audio/video stream. Also received is an audio data segment. At least a portion of the audio data of the first audio/video stream is replaced at the identified location with the audio data segment to produce a second audio/video stream. At least a portion of the second audio/video stream is then transferred for presentation.

Abstract: Various embodiments of apparatus, systems and/or methods are described for providing user generated content relating to a subject, and collecting polling data relating to the subject, on multiple disparate communication devices. User generated content is received from one or more disparate communication devices and provided for presentation on at least one of the communication devices. Polling data is also received from at least one of the end-users of the communication devices viewing the user generated content, and tabulated to generate poll results displayable on the communication devices.

Abstract: Mounting systems and apparatus are provided for attaching a mast to a structure at a desired orientation. The mounting apparatus includes a base support and a ball mount. The base support can be rigidly attached to a portion of the structure. The ball mount receives a ball associated with the mast to thereby allow the mast to be positioned and maintained at the desired orientation. The mounting apparatus may be used, for example, for attaching a digital broadcast satellite (DBS) antenna to a fascia or other portion of a home or other structure.

Abstract: Various arrangements for determining a frame number of a video frame are presented. A decoded video frame may include a test image and a numerical color pattern. A first color present within the color pattern of the video frame at a first predefined location may be identified. A second color present within the color pattern of the video frame at a second predefined location may be identified. The frame number of the video frame may be identified using at least the first color and the second color.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing customized television programming through temporary subscriptions. According to certain embodiments, a television delivery service system is configured to allow a subscriber to gain access to one or more channels not available under a first subscription package by granting a temporary subscription to a second subscription package. At the end of the temporary subscription, the subscriber's access is returned to the first subscription package. This allows a subscriber to gain access to additional channels not available under the subscriber's current subscription program without having to upgrade to a new subscription plan altogether.

Abstract: An antenna mount is disclosed. The antenna mount includes a mast and a foot that are substantially free of electrically conductive elements. The mast has a first end having a circular cross-section configured to be received by a mounting bracket of a satellite dish having a circular interior cross-section. The foot is configured to be secured to a stationary mounting surface and to be pivotally attached to a second end of the mast.

Abstract: Various embodiments facilitate the management of receiving device health. One embodiment provides a receiving device health manager that identifies receiving devices having degraded operational states, based on operational state data received from those receiving devices. The receiving device health manager may further determine and initiate corrective actions with respect to the identified receiving devices, based on information about customers associated with the receiving devices and/or about the receiving devices themselves. In one embodiment, a corrective action may include a customer service contact to schedule a receiving device repair visit by a technician.
