  • Patent number: 11638326
Abstract: When a failed connection is detected from a first radio unit (RU) to the cellular site router (CSR), activation of an existing backup cabled connection from the first RU to the CSR through a cabled connection between the first RU and a second RU of the cellular telecommunications tower may be performed. In one example, a first RU and second RU each have two physical network ports. The activation of the existing backup cabled connection from the first RU, via the second RU, to the CSR may include causing the first RU to enter from a normal operating mode into an Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) cascade operating mode to attempt to attain network connectivity for the first RU using the second physical network port of the first RU.

  • Patent number: 11622299
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards providing 5G zero touch traffic management of cells in a network. A target cell associated with a network objective is identified. One or more neighbor cells are also identified. Transmit power and tilt capabilities of the target cell are determined. An interference between the target cell and the one or more neighbor cells is also determined. An electrical antenna tilt adjustment or a transmit power adjustment is determined for the target cell to apply based on the transmit power capabilities, the tilt capabilities, the interference, and the network objective. The determined electrical antenna tilt adjustment or the determined transmit power adjustment are then provided to the target cell. If the network objective is met after the target cell applies the electrical antenna tilt adjustment or the determined transmit power adjustment, then the changes are confirmed, otherwise they are reversed.

  • Patent number: 11616588
Abstract: An aggregate cell of a cellular network includes a plurality of dispersed modular cells. The modular cells each include a cellular radio and collectively perform the function of a cellular base station. A distributed clock is established by transmitting timing beacons from one or more of the modular cells. Each modular cell receives the timing beacons. Each modular cell that transmits a timing beacon provides a transmission timestamp to a cell controller. Each modular cell that receives a timing beacon provides a reception timestamp to the cell controller. The cell controller schedules signal transmissions from the modular cells based on the transmission and reception timestamps.

  • Patent number: 11617185
Abstract: A system for scheduling wireless data transmissions divides a band allocated to the mobile service carrier into two overlapping bands. Then each user equipment (UE) of a plurality of UEs that connects to the ground-based network of the mobile service carrier is assigned to one of the two overlapping bands. The system allocates at a given scheduling time, physical resource blocks (PRBs) to UEs up to a maximum number of PRBs available for the particular overlapping frequency band to which the UE is assigned based on a metric for the UE that is a ratio of a downlink channel quality indicator for the UE to the average data rate of the UE at the given time, giving higher priority for PRB allocation to UEs that have a larger metric than other UEs of the plurality of UEs.

  • Publication number: 20230041375
Abstract: A system, device and method, for customer specific network slicing includes a VNO server, a first node, and a virtualized network. The VNO server executes computer instructions instantiating a solution manager engine which identifies a Solution, communicates the Solution to the first node, and upon acceptance of the Solution by the first node, instructs the virtualized network to couple the first node with a second node in accordance with the Solution. The virtualized network may include network function virtualization infrastructure and the Solution may include a slice of the virtualized network. The slice satisfies a Service Level Requirement (SLR), such as one that specifies a maximum latency for the slice. The SLR is specified in a Need received by the VNO server from the first node. The SLR is determined based upon an application program the first Node is at least one of currently executing and expected to later execute.
