The base and lid are configured so that opening of the tamper-evident tab locks the tab in the opened position. The inner edge of the tamper-evident tab is joined to the base by a hinge. The tamper-evident tab includes a protrusion that extends inwardly beyond the hinge. The lid includes a retention feature overlying the tamper-evident tab. The protrusion interacts with the retention feature to provide an audible indication when the tamper-evident tab is opened and to retain the tamper-evident tab in the opened position. The protrusion may be configured to lift the lid when the tamper-evident tab is in the opened position.

Interaction between the rail and the panel during manufacture or assembly of the package may create a space between the tray and the panel to form the channel. The cover may be inserted within the channel formed by the tray flange, rail and panel. In use, the cover may slide within the channel to selectively open and close the package. The package may include one or more catches, stops or snap lock features to further secure and stabilize the package.

The pull tab may be joined to the top part by a small land of material that is configured to deform when the package is opened. The blister slot may include a flange insertion portion and a hinge seat. The flange may be fitted through the blister slot and secured to the panel to hold the blister in place. The blister may be movable about the hinge to allow the package to be opened and closed. The locking protrusion may be configured to selectively snap-lock with the interlocking opening in the backing to hold the blister in the closed position.

Abstract: A wiper package assembly for use in packaging a pre-curved wiper blade. The wiper package assembly generally includes a package and a pair of end caps fittable onto the wiper blade and into the package. The package and end caps may be configured to cooperatively hold the pre-curved wiper blade in an at least partially straightened condition. The end caps may be configured to engage the wiper blade without altering the shape of the wiper blade tip, thereby reducing the risk of the wiper tip becoming deformed during by the package. In one embodiment, the end caps are ambidextrous in the sense that identical end caps can be used on opposite ends of the wiper blade. The end cap may include two support slots configured to correspond with the shape of the opposite ends of an asymmetrical wiper blade.
