Abstract: Tablets and other relatively fragile consumer products can be transported in a carton with little or no compromise to their integrity by providing bottom flaps of the carton with slits for cushioning the carton. Preferably, at least two adjacent flaps include the slits. Instead of slits, perforated lines or non-linear lines can be used. However, in a preferred embodiment, the carton is a corrugated carton and the slits run parallel to the lines of corrugation. More preferably, the corrugation includes troughs and the slits are imposed in the fiberboard parallel to and opposite the troughs of the corrugations.

Abstract: Cosmetic skin care methods and compositions containing carboxymethylates of branched alcohols and/or ethoxylates thereof. The inventive compositions provide control of sebum secretion from sebocytes, improved oil control and improved skin feel, prevent shine and stickiness, while also providing anti-aging benefits which results in reduced appearance of wrinkles and aged skin, improved skin color, treatment of photoaged skin, improvement in skin's radiance and clarity and finish, and an overall healthy and youthful appearance of the skin.

Abstract: In order to improve the dispersion of nonionic surfactant into wash water from a granule in which the nonionic surfactant is carried on a water-insoluble granular material, the nonionic surfactant is intimately blended with a water-insoluble liquid. Preferred water-insoluble liquids include hydrocarbons, for example, paraffins.

Abstract: The invention provides methods of enhancing moisture or reducing drying using wet skin treatment composition. These compositions are activated by water and retained efficiently on skin. Thus, the compositions (and methods used) impart desirable benefits to skin, are perceived to absorb quickly on wet skin and leave the skin feeling clean, but non-greasy.

Abstract: The invention is particularly useful for coacting with roller tubes of conveyor apparatus. A cartridge bearing including a stub axle with a tip of greater hardness than the surface circumscribing the aperture receiving the stub axle is inserted into an end of a conveyor roller tube. Along with being electrically conductive, the stub axle can be provided with a damper for reducing vibration. The stub axle engages an electrically conductive stub shaft and moves axially with respect to the stub shaft to operatively interlock with the aperture of the fixed structure. Use of the cartridge bearing provides for the grounding of static charge that can accumulate during operation of conveyor roller tubes.
Abstract: Detergent or personal care compositions comprising capsules, which in turn comprise a hydrophobic continuous phase, the latter comprising an isotropic mixture of a thermoplastic-type co-polymer and hydrocarbon oil. Preferably, the capsules further comprise an oil-soluble benefit agent. Preferably, the compositions are liquid, especially aqueous-based compositions. In the preferred embodiment, the capsules are transparent or translucent.

Abstract: Hair and/or scalp treatment compositions comprise an antidandruff agent, an effective amount of a cannabinoid receptor (CBR) activating agent and a cosmetically acceptable diluent or carrier. Alternatively, the compositions may be shampoo compositions comprising from 3 to 50 wt % surfactant, a CB receptor activating agent and a cosmetically acceptable diluent or carrier, provided that the CB receptor activating agent is not palmitoylethanolamide. The compositions are useful in the treatment and/or prevention of the symptoms of dandruff and can reduce scalp itch, a symptom which is typically associated with dandruff.

Abstract: A capstan for handling slitting tools comprises a base, a pivoting frame, an outer frame and a plurality of shafts. The pivoting frame is supported by the base for pivotal movement about an axis. The outer frame is supported by the rotating frame for translational movement along the axis. The plurality of shafts extends from the outer frame transversely to the axis. The capstan preferably further includes an axial actuator for translating the outer frame relative to the pivoting frame along the axis. This permits an attendant to raise or lower the outer frame, and, hence, raise or lower the shafts. By thus raising or lowering the shafts, the attendant can adjust the height of the shafts to a comfortable level for loading or unloading knives and spacers without excessive lifting or bending. An optional pusher serves to automatically slide the tools between the capstan and the slitter machine.
Abstract: A method for a skin treatment regime and a respective product is provided which cosmetically improves human skin. The product includes a first composition containing at least one active and functioning to impart a first benefit to the skin. A second composition is provided which includes a second different active and imparts a second benefit to the skin. The first and second compositions are stored in respective separate containers, which nevertheless are joined together for reminding a consumer to use the compositions in tandem and to facilitate in one sale all necessary elements of a suggested regime. Packaging suitable for this purposes can be a series of stackable jars releasably lockable together through a threaded screw arrangement one above the other.
