  • Patent number: 6293284
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for virtual color makeover of a customer's face. A digital image is taken of the customer's face. Natural skin color is determined by a differential analysis among at least two different sites along the face to identify an area without color. The identified area without color is then used as a basis for projecting the customer's face with the natural skin color. Consultant's choice of preprogrammed color palettes matching the measured natural skin color is then projected on the facial image. A customer's personal choice such as fashion, natural or go-to-work looks can be registered for modifying the consultant's choice color palette. The selected color palette can then be identified as a set of color cosmetic products which are provided to the customer.

  • Patent number: 6292072
Abstract: A radiating coaxial cable includes an inner conductor, an electrical insulator located about a periphery of the inner conductor, and an outer conductor located about a periphery of the electrical insulator. The outer conductor defines groups of apertures spaced from each other a predetermined distance in the range of from about twice the longest operational wavelength of the cable to less than ten meters. The aperture groups are designed in such a way to excite a surface wave at low operating frequencies and a combination of surface and radiating waves at high operational frequencies.

  • Patent number: 6287582
Abstract: A disposable towelette product is provided which includes a flexible water-insoluble substrate such as a tissue impregnated with an alpha- or beta-hydroxycarboxylic acid in a cosmetically acceptable carrier vehicle. Impregnated cosmetic composition in water will have a pH no higher than 6.8. A silicone microemulsion is present to minimize any stickiness resulting from deposition of the hydroxycarboxylic acid by the towelette onto the skin. In the presence of fatty acid group containing surfactants, the silicone microemulsion controls foul odors that the surfactants may emit through hydrolysis at low pH.

  • Patent number: 6283420
Abstract: An adjustable support for a sensor has a first support defining a first end and a second end. A first clamp is fixedly coupled to the first support between the first and second and thereof. The first clamp has an adjustable coupling for selective fixation to a support platform. A second support is adjustably coupled to the first support in a way that supports the second support, facilitates selective movement of the second support relative to the first support in one dimension, and facilitates fixation of the second support relative to the first support. A second clamp is adjustably coupled to the second support so that a sensor fixedly coupled to the second clamp can be moved relative to the second support and fixed thereto by the second clamp.
