Abstract: Polymer polyols are made in a seeded process, in which styrene and acrylonitrile are polymerized in the presence of a base polyol, a seed dispersion and a solvent. The seed dispersion contains an unsaturated macromer. The process produces a polymer polyol in which the dispersed phase particles have a particle size of 1 to 3 ?m and a particle size span of less than 1.25. The polymer polyols are very useful for making flexible polyurethane foam for cushioning applications, in which high airflows and good load bearing are needed.

In Formulas (Ia), (Ib), and (Ic), each group R1, R2, and R3 is independently chosen from alkyl groups or aryl groups; each group Z1 or Z2 is independently chosen from alkylene groups. If a=2, groups R1 of the two groups Q are optionally linked, or groups R3 of the two groups Q are optionally linked. Each X is covalently bonded or coordinated to the metal center and is independently chosen from alkyl groups or halides. The polymerization systems may be configured to copolymerize ethylene and ?-olefins.
Abstract: An additive elastomeric manufactured part having improved surface finish is made by repeatedly extruding through a nozzle to build up layers of a material comprised of a prepolymer comprised of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer and a filler in an amount such that the material has a shear storage modulus G? of 100,000 to 300,000 Pa measured at an oscillation rate of 1 Hz and a relaxation time of 20 seconds to 360 seconds. It has been discovered that the particular material having these rheological properties is able to improve the surface finish of the additive manufactured part without slumping and is believed to be due to surface flow of material into valleys between the extrudates as they are being built up.
