Abstract: A fishing reel includes a central shaft, a drive gear coupled to the central shaft, a spool connected to the drive gear and winding a fishing line thereon, a drive washer mounted to the central shaft to interlock with the central shaft, an auxiliary washer mounted to the central shaft and having a projection to interlock with the drive gear, and a clicking sound generator. The clicking sound generator includes a click member operated in conjunction with the central shaft or the drive gear and having a spring contact part, and a click spring operated in conjunction with the drive gear or the central shaft and having a protruding part coming into contact with the spring contact part, and an elastic part integrated with the protruding part to put the protruding part in contact with the spring contact part.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a click sound generating device for a bait reel. The bait reel includes a reel frame, a spool, a handle and a drag knob. The spool is rotatably mounted to the reel frame. A fishing line is wound around the circumferential outer surface of the spool. The handle is connected to the spool through a gear shaft. The drag knob is provided between the handle and the gear shaft to adjust the drag strength of the spool. The click sound generating device is in the drag knob and generates clicking sounds depending on rotation of the drag knob, thus enabling a user to minutely and precisely control the drag strength or rotating force of the spool.

Abstract: The present invention provides a clutch of a bait reel for fishing which controls rotation of a spool such that only when the handle is rotated to reel in a fishing line can one-way rotation of the spool be restricted. The clutch includes a ratchet wheel which is coupled to a rotating shaft of a handle, and a ratchet pawl which is provided in a reel frame. The ratchet pawl is removably locked to gear teeth of the ratchet wheel to control the rotation of the spool. A separate contact piece made of rigid material is coupled to a contact end of the ratchet pawl. Therefore, the contact piece directly receives a load and frictional resistance occurring when the gear teeth of the ratchet wheel presses the ratchet pawl. Thus, the ratchet pawl which is made of comparatively soft material to facilitate the operation of forming the ratchet pawl can be prevented from being easily damaged.

Abstract: Provided is an anti-backlash apparatus for a bait reel. The apparatus includes a brake shoe holder, a plurality of brake shoes, a stopper, a stopper holder, and locking parts. The brake shoe holder connects to a shaft of a spool. The plurality of brake shoes are radially fitted to the brake shoe holder, move outside, and get friction with a brake ring. The stopper is provided at one side of the brake shoe holder, and restricts movements of the brake shoes. The stopper holder connects to the stopper, and elastically reciprocates and moves left/right by a tension force of the spring. The locking parts are vertically bent at one-side ends of the brake shoes, and are locked at an inner circumference surface of the stopper, and restrict the movement of the brake shoe.

The boss is provided within a side cover, has a stop hole at a center, and has a slope surface around a front end. The rod moves to the left/right with passing through a reel frame and the side cover, and is selectively inserted into the stop hole of the boss. The spring is fitted around the rod and elastically supports left/right movement of the rod.

A movable cam 20 assembled to a stationary cam 10 secured to a spool shaft movesin a direction parallel with the spool shaft, when a revolution of the spool is increased. A braking plate 30 approaches a permanent magnet 2a of a spool cover, so that the spool is smoothly and precisely braked.

The position of the shoe is selected between protruded guides of a shoe holder so as to apply braking force, so that the backlash of the spool is precisely controlled, without decreasing the carry distance of casting.
