Abstract: An improved form of administration of 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-(2-nitrophenyl)-3,5-pyridine-dicarboxylic acid-dimethylester (i.e., Nifedipine) is provided in which the Nifedipine is molecularly dispersed wihtin a solidified melt of polyethylene glycols which are liquid, semi-solid and solid at room temperature. The weight ratio of liquid to non-liquid polyethylene glycols in the solidified melt ranges from about 7:23 to 23:7, the solidification temperature of the mixture ranges from about 25.degree. C. to 62.degree. C. and the mixture has a viscosity of from about 1 to 180,000 poise when measured at 20.degree. C. in admixture with up to about 40 percent by weight of water.

Abstract: A pressure switch for monitoring a tire pressure of a motor vehicle tire is fastened to a wheel rim and is actuated by the inflating pressure in the tire. The pressure switch comprises a reference pressure chamber which is sealed off by an electrically conductive switching diaphragm in the direction of the tire, and carries a contact pin interacting with this diaphragm. The switching diaphragm has a mass which is controlled as a function of centrifugal force in response to tire rotation such that the switching point of the pressure switch can be changed automatically as a function of vehicle speed.

Abstract: The delivery of fuel into the combustion chamber of a diesel engine is aided by blowing in an amount of compressed air which is small compared to the stroke volume of the diesel engine after the stream of fuel has been injected into the combustion chamber via the fuel nozzle. In this way fuel particles which would otherwise remain in the injection nozzle and considerably increase the hydrocarbon content of the exhaust are removed from the nozzle and burned, at the same time clearing the nozzle holes of any remaining fuel. The compressed air blown in after fuel injection will assist combustion of the red-hot particles of the fuel stream which have formed immediately beyond the nozzle.

Abstract: A needling apparatus for making a patterned felt web comprises at least one needle board, which is connected to a needle board drive, a feed drive for feeding the felt web through a felt guide between a felt support and a stripper, and means for adjusting the stroke position of the needle board relative to the felt guide between an idle stroke position and a working stroke position for the largest depth of penetration. To permit an increase of the average feeding speed along a series of patterns, the feeding speed imparted to the feed web by the feed drive is adapted to be controlled in dependence on the stroke position of the needle board relative to the felt guide in accordance with a predetermined coordination between the stroke position of the needle board and the feeding speed of the felt web.

Abstract: This invention is both an apparatus and a method for distributing concrete coming from a concrete pump to anyone of a plurality of points of use. An intermediate conduit is connected with a main supply conduit and the intermediate conduit comprises a plurality of branch points connected in series by the intermediate conduit. At each branch point a short branch pipe is connected with the intermediate conduit. All branch pipes can be completely plugged by rubber plugs. A discharge conduit is connected with the end of the intermediate conduit and a draining device can be operatively connected with the discharge conduit to force a deformable plug through the intermediate conduit and at least a part of the supply conduit in order to drain and cleanse the whole system before setting of the concrete will begin. The draining process is activated at the end of a working day or working period and can be automatically started after a predetermined stop period of the concrete pump.

Abstract: A seat for a vehicle, aircraft or the like includes a seat part and a backrest whereby the backrest is provided with an integrated headrest. In order that, on the one hand, the area of the cervical spinal column-lordosis of the respective seat user is effectively supported during the driving operation and, on the other, injuries of the cervical spinal column are at least reduced in case of an impact, a continuously changeable vacuum cushion is arranged at the backrest within the area of the headrest which is adapted to be individually matched to the cervical vertebrae column-lordosis of the respective seat user by means of an extraction pump and at least one valve.

Abstract: A combination of a rotatable spindle and grinding disk, and a method of assembly thereof. The spindle has an end with radial slits. The grinding disk has a hub which rests on the end face of the spindle. A portion protruding from the end face of the spindle has a barrel shape or a double frustoconical shape periphery. The hub of the grinding disk has an opening through it of complementary shape to the periphery of the protruding of the spindle. The slit protruding portion is deformable for fitting into the hub opening, whereby the spindle and disk are fixed for rotation. Additional protrusions from the hub extending into the slits assure that the grinding disk does not rotate with respect to the spindle. The method includes disposing compressible material at both sides of the grinding disk or extending compressible material through the hole in the grinding disk, and then compressing the compressible material over the grinding disk the defining the hub for the grinding disk.

Abstract: An elastic bearing assembly for a driving assembly of a motor vehicle with at least engine and transmission side bearing arrangements, for holding the driving assembly with dampening of vibrations. In special arrangement, the motor or engine side bearings as well as the transmission side bearings exhibit different spring stiffness which are configured with respect to one another that the vertical vibration movements of the assembly are coupled with a rotational vibration movement about an assembly cross axis. Further the bearings are so arranged and configured that all other possible vibration or movement forms of vertical and rotational movement are substantially decoupled. During dampening of vibrations of the assembly caused by an external disturbance, respectfully all in and out spring movements of the harder bearings are hindered by an overlapping second higher frequency movement. A bearing arrangement of this type results in an advantageous quick dampening of vibrations.

Abstract: A motor vehicle, especially a passenger motor vehicle includes a rear engine and an air guide arrangement arranged in the rear area which is displaceable from a rest position extending flush with the adjoining body into an extended operating position, whereby the air guide arrangement extends in the operating position at a distance to the body and a transversely extending gap region disposed to the rear as viewed in the driving direction and lateral outwardly disposed longitudinally extending gap regions are closed off by cover elements.

Abstract: A brake arrangement, especially a disk brake for vehicles which includes brake pads guided in a brake caliper on both sides of a brake disk that are operatively connected with hydraulically actuatable actuating pistons. Each actuating piston includes a bore directed toward the brake pad in which an insert member is arranged that includes an element covering the piston end surface and is held with play with respect to the inner circumferential and bottom surfaces of the bore. The element consists of a plate-shaped intermediate inset member which is connected with the two insert members and is provided on its surface facing the brake pad with a friction-increasing layer.

Abstract: In a microfilm reader-printer working according to the rotational principle one of the fixed deflecting mirrors (11, 12) by which the image is to be projected on an exposure area (13) is made and arranged in a flexible manner. A deflecting device (14) formed by a magnet coil (15) and a pusher rod (16) is continually bending one of the deflecting mirrors (11, 12) during the exposure of the base material in such a way that an image is produced that is free from distortions.

Abstract: In a drive arrangement for a motor vehicle, with an engine, a clutch, a change-speed transmission and an axle drive, the drive connection from the transmission output shaft to the axle drive shafts driving the vehicle wheels is constructed U-shaped. The clutch housing flangedly connected to the engine housing protrudes into the U-shaped intermediate space.

Abstract: A single seater motor vehicle is disclosed which has freely exposed wheels and a centrally disposed base body bounded on the sides by lateral body section. The base body is tapered so as to have an aerodynamic shape with a widest section as seen from the top adjacent the rear vehicle wheels and a widest section width as seen from the bottom adjacent the front vehicle wheels. The lateral body sections extend from adjacent the vehicle front wheels and include openings for vehicle engine radiators.

Abstract: A planetary transmission having a centrifugal brake is connected into a vehicle drive line and, when there is a rotational speed difference between an input shaft and an output shaft, transmits torque to the output shaft. Due to a special mounting of the input shaft and the output shaft of the planetary transmission, the occurring forces and torques are transmitted effectively, in which the case the parts of the planetary transmission can be manufactured in a cost-effective way and are easy to assemble.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase with a crankshaft which drives at one end face of the crankcase, auxiliary aggregates--oil pump--and endless elements. The oil pump and the endless elements are covered off by means of a covering which consists of a sheet metal part including two thin-walled layers and is constructed pot-shaped in cross section. This light-weight covering which is simple in construction is secured at the end wall of the crankcase by means of an edge flange and by means of bolts.

Abstract: An excipient system containing a drug for peroral administration in the form of an ultrafine aqueous, colloidal suspension of lipid nano-pellets comprised of lipids and a surfactant of which the particle diameters of the nano-pellets range from 50-1,000 nm, preferably from 80-800 nm, the ratio of lipid to surfactant in the lipid nano-pellets ranging from 1:0.1 to 1:2.2, preferably from 1:0.22 to 1:1.2, especially from 1:1 to 1:0.22, and where the lipid nano-pellets are present in the suspension in a concentration of from 1-20% by weight. The lipid nano-pellets can be provided with pharmacologically active substances, making possible improved biological availability upon peroral administration.

Abstract: A wire loop reference transmitter is coupled with the excitation winding and the receiver winding of metal detection apparatus and which can be alternately opened and closed through a switch. In another version the separation of the reference phase transmitter reference signal from other signals is accomplished by periodically turning the reference signal off and on at a predetermined switching frequency. According to a further version this separation is achieved by a phase control demodulator controlled by a switched-on reference signal of a first controllable phase and by a switched-off reference signal with a control signal to obtain a 180 degree second control phase. Still further, control signals of a phase controlled rectifier can be at 90 degrees to the reference signal of the reference phase transmitter.
