Patent number: 4833115Abstract: A ceramic catalyst carrier has a honeycombed structure which comprises a plurality of elongated parallel preferably square channels and thin, porous walls. The thickness of the walls is between 0.4 mm and 1.2 mm. The open cross-sectional area of the channels is greater than 80% of the total cross-section of the carrier body. Besides an intended low primary porosity, a secondary porosity is produced by an opening material. The pores of the secondary porosity which enlarge the active surface for the catalyst show a selected pore size distribution curve with negative skewness and a modal value ranging from 4,000 nm to 60,000 nm. The total true porosity amounts preferably between 50 and 70 Vol. % of the ceramic, whereby the ratio between total and secondary porosity is in the range of 1:1 to 6:1. By ceramic fibres the mechanical strength of the thin walls of the soft green clot and of the fired porous structure can be improved.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 1987Date of Patent: May 23, 1989Assignee: Dr. C. Patent number: 4825974Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive insulating system (3) that is non-destructively removable, e.g. for repair purposes, for sound insulation of partition walls (1), particularly in motor vehicles. Between the foundation and the overlying layers of the insulating system (3) a layer (2) of a highly under-cross-linked polyurethane material or a special bitumen mixture is applied that has a strong adhesive effect and thus enables a force-locked connection to be made between the foundation (1) and the insulating system (3). To ensure that the desired flexibility is obtained together with unchanged acoustic effectiveness even when a carpet (8) is laid on the insulating system (3) or its heavy layer (6), according to the invention a decoupler (7) of soft elastic, predominantly open-pored material is arranged between the carpet (8) and the heavy layer (6). Surprisingly, along with the desired flexibility, the acoustic effect is further improved.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1987Date of Patent: May 2, 1989Assignee: Dr. Alois Stankiewicz GmbHInventors: Manfred Hoffmann, Johann Tonhauser, Dieter Karg

Patent number: 4824365Abstract: The matrix consisting of a thin flexible strip of plastic comprises a loop 1 to be placed around the tooth to give the desired shape to the filling material. It is permanently connected to an annular tightener (2) made of material permanently deformable by pressure with the fingers and dentist's forceps, for example, of annealed aluminum sheet. It exhibits, in the front, a slit (3) through which pass the two terminal extensions (1',1") of flexible strip (1) and, in the back, tabs (2',2") between which are permanently fastened the ends of said terminal extensions (1, 1") of said strip, so that by compressing said annular tightener (arrows 4, 5) it determines the slipping of slit (3) like a slider on the extensions (1', 11") of the strip, the narrowing of loop (1) and the perfect adherence of the loop of the strip to the tooth.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1988Date of Patent: April 25, 1989Assignee: Hawe-Neos Dental Dr. H.
