The tasks can be assigned to users and/or be assigned due dates. The content item can be shared with other users such that updates to the content item (e.g., updates to the tasks) can cause sending notifications to users associated with the content item. When a task in the content item is updated, all members of the project can be notified of the updated status of the task. A task list for a project can be created that aggregates tasks from multiple content items associated with the project. Tasks can be organized in the task list according to the content item the task was created in. Updates to tasks in the task list can cause corresponding updates to the tasks in the content items.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods of accessing content items stored at a content management system by a mobile device, when the mobile device is not communicatively coupled to the content management system. The content management system can receive an indication to mark a content item (e.g., folder and the content items associated with the folder) as available to a mobile device when the mobile device is offline. The content management system can mark the content item, and any content items associated with the content item, for offline access by the mobile device and determine a synchronization schedule for the content item(s). The content management system can then initially send to the mobile device, the marked content item(s) in accordance with the synchronization schedule. While offline, the mobile device can make changes to the marked content items. The changes can be synchronized between the mobile device and content management system when the mobile device is online.

In addition, the thumbnail caching system intelligently adjusts the thumbnails within the thumbnail cache to keep the size of the thumbnail cache within the threshold storage limit irrespective of the number of digital content items stored or added to the digital content collection. Further, the thumbnail caching system can dynamically adjust the size of the thumbnail cache in response to a user adding or removing external data to the client device.

The content item can be shared with the recipients of the electronic message such that the content item can be synchronized across recipient devices by the online content management system. The messaging client on each recipient device and/or the sender's device can present representations of the attachments associated with the message thread in a centralized location on a GUI of the messaging client.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for authenticating a user account with a synchronized content management system are disclosed. A synchronized online content management system may receive a request from a client device to access content in the content management system via a web browser that is running on the client device. The system may identify that a client-side application for the content management system has been installed on the client device and that the client-side application is already logged into a user account with the content management system. The system can cause the web browser to open a local host connection to the client-side application such that the web browser may be able to obtain from the client application some user account identifying information for the user account. The system can then cause the web browser to log into the user account by using the user account identifying information.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for managing and sharing picture files. Abstract: A content management system for collecting files from one or more authenticated submitters in a collection folder. A collector, who generates the collection folder, can invite one or more submitters to submit one or more files to the collection folder. The one or more submitters have limited rights to the collection folder. The limited rights can include uploading rights and prohibiting a submitter from viewing files that other submitters associated with the collection folder submitted. Thus, the collection folder is able to store files from the one or more submitters, but prevent them from viewing other's submissions.

Abstract: The present technology pertains to synchronized video viewing that is supported by the use of a pending changes count to keep the client devices in synchronization while providing a user experience that matches the expectations of the user. A second client device can receive input to change some aspect of the playback of a video that is being viewed synchronously with at least one other device. The second client device can process the event so the video can reflect the received input. The second client device can also send a collaboration message to a synchronized video viewing service to inform other client devices of the command. Since the second client device is aware of its own event, the second client device can ignore processing any other collaboration messages until it receives the collaboration message it initiated echoed back to it. Thereafter it can resume processing received collaboration messages.
