Abstract: The disclosed technology addresses the need in the art for a service that can ingest a social network export and restore the integrity of threads within the social network export. The present technology can unite images in the social network export with the caption from the initial post, and with any comments within the thread. Likewise, images in the social network export can be enhanced to include metadata that reflects when the image was posted and any other contextual information that the social network provides in export file.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for managing projects in a content management system. For example, the content management system can create a project folder (e.g., shared folder) for managing data associated with a project. The project folder can be shared with content management system users (e.g., project members) who are contributors to the project. The content management system can store project data (e.g., content items, communications, comments, tasks, etc.) related to the project in the project folder. When the project folder is selected by a user, the content management system can generate a project folder view that presents the project data associated with the project folder and/or project in a convenient and easy to access graphical user interface. The content management system can aggregate project data from various content items associated with the project and present the project data in a single graphical user interface.

Abstract: A system converts the data of data objects stored in a DDOS from one data format to another while the system is live and available to process requests for access to the data objects being converted. This process does not require taking the DDOS offline and also does not require locking a data object for the entire conversion of the data object.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable storage media are disclosed for generating meeting insights based on media data and device input data. For example, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed system utilizes analyzes media data including audio data or video data and inputs to client devices associated with a meeting to determine a portion of the meeting (e.g., a portion of the media data) that is relevant for a user. In response to determining a relevant portion of the meeting, the system generates an electronic message including content related to the relevant portion of the meeting. The system then provides the electronic message to a client device of the user. For instance, in one or more embodiments, the system generates a meeting summary, meeting highlights, or action items related to the media data to provide to the client device of the user.

Abstract: The present technology provides an interface and system for generating a previous version of a directory structure that can be useful in the restoration of a directory or file. The system, methods and non-transitory computer-readable storage media include receiving a request for a previous version of a directory structure at an indicated date, querying a content management system for placeholder content items associated with the previous version of the directory structure at the indicated date, receiving the placeholder content items, and generating a read-only copy of at least a portion of the previous version of the directory structure at the indicated date based on the placeholder content items, wherein the read-only copy of the directory structure is separate from the directory structure at a current date.

Abstract: A computer implemented method that renders a document and receives a selection of a portion of the rendered document along with a linked document command from a user. The method prompts the user for a title for a new document for the selected portion. Creating a new document in response to receiving a title with the selected portion inserted into the new document. The method further includes replacing the selected portion with the title in the rendered document, with the title being a link to the new document.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for managing content item collections. For example, in embodiment, a client device may receive first user input selecting a content item collection. The client device may generate a graphical user interface for presenting the content item collection. The content item collection may include one or more tiles. Each tile may correspond to a content item embedded into the content item collection and stored by a content management system. The client device may present the content item collection including the one or more tiles. The client device may present, within each of the one or more tiles, an image representing the corresponding content item.

Abstract: A client application of a device receives presence information and other interaction information from other devices synchronized to a set of content items. The interaction information indicates interactions of at least one other device with respect to a synchronized content item. The client application displays a browser depicting the synchronized content items and permitting navigation among organizational elements. The browser also displays the interaction information associated with the content items received from the other devices. The browser displays the interaction information with respect to particular content items or for an organizational element. The browser may also include an activity feed displaying interaction information specific to a content item or relating to a synchronized folder or organizational element. This permits a user to view, at a browser, activity and interactions of other users with respect to content items using native applications on another device.

Abstract: One or more embodiments of a content naming system provide machine-learned name suggestions to a user for naming content items. Specifically, an online content management system can train a machine-learning model to identify a naming pattern from previously stored content items corresponding to a user account of the user. The online content management system uses the machine-learning model to determine a plurality of name suggestions for naming a content item associated with the user account. One or more embodiments provide graphical elements corresponding to the name suggestions within a graphical user interface. The user can select one or more graphical elements to add the corresponding name suggestion(s) to the name of the content item.

Abstract: The present technology pertains to a link service that can create, maintain, and service links to objects on behalf of a content management system or other services. The link service can share administration of links with other services when desired or can even allow other services to issue the link and manage the object that is the subject of the link while providing other functions to support the link. Additionally, link service can interface with a file system that can support links as actors in the file system, whereby greater control and flexibility in supporting links is provided. Link service can also accommodate servicing and management of links issued by legacy services, where the legacy services have unique link logic that should still be utilized to maintain a consistent user experience.

Abstract: A content management system synchronizes content items across client computing systems connected by a network. Each client device has a storage allocation for synchronized shared content items. If the storage allocation for shared content items on a client device is exceeded by the request to add or edit a content item such that it is enlarged, or open a large content item remote to the client device, a client application or the host of content management system selects content items to remove from residence on the client device but keep remotely on content management system. Upon removal of the selected content items, the client application creates shadow items, representing the content item but only containing the metadata of the content item. This creates sufficient space for the initial request to be completed while maintaining user access to all synchronized shared content items.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for managing reminders in a content management system. For example, a user can select content (e.g., a content item, content within a content item, metadata for a content item, etc.) and provide input to cause the content management system to generate a reminder related to the content. The reminder data can be generated automatically. The reminder can be generated based on user input defining attributes of the reminder. Based on a due date associated with the reminder, the content management system can cause a notification to be presented to the user so that the user can be reminded to perform a task related to the selected item of content. The user can select a representation of the reminder to cause the content management system to present the item of content associated with the reminder.

Abstract: A client can allocate and reassociate unique identifiers to local content items associated with an account at a content management system, and use the unique identifiers to commit operations for the content items on the content management system. For example, a client can create a content item and determine the content item does not have an identifier from the content management system. The client obtains an identifier for the content item and asks the content management system to verify a uniqueness of the identifier. When the identifier is unique, the client adds a node corresponding to the content item to a local tree representing a state at the client of content items associated with the account, and uploads the content item with the identifier to the content management system. When the identifier is not unique, the client obtains a new identifier for the content item.

In particular, one or more embodiments train an orientation neural network to identify the orientation of a depicted document in a digital image. Additionally, one or more embodiments train a text prediction neural network to analyze a depicted document in a digital image to generate computer searchable text from the depicted document.

Abstract: The present technology operates in an application layer of an operating system on a client device of a content management system to monitor for changes to shared content items that are likely unintentional—for example the change might move a content item out of a shared space, or otherwise remove the shared content item from access by other users. The present technology can detect a content item change event on a client device, compare a source file system path for the content item change event with a destination file system path for the content item change event to determine a canonical move causing the content item change event, determine that the canonical move was likely unintentional; and display a notification informing the user that a content item change that was likely unintentional was detected and then allow the user to either confirm or deny (undo) the detected change.

Abstract: A collaborative content management system (CMS) is disclosed herein for processing electronic signature data in a collaborative environment and performing actions based on the received data. The CMS may receive a selection of a content item to be electronically signed by one or more users. Upon receipt of the selection, the CMS may generate a fillable form and send the fillable form to be electronically filled out signed. When each user fills out and signs the form, the CMS may receive that form data and aggregate the form data with previously received form data. The CMS may determine whether the aggregated form data meets one or more conditions stored within the CMS and perform appropriate actions based on one or more conditions that are met.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for malware detection and content item recovery. For example, a content management system can receive information describing changes made to content items stored on a user device. The content management system can analyze the information to determine if the described changes are related to malicious software on the user device. When the changes are related to malicious software, the content management system can determine which content items are effected by the malicious software and/or determine when the malicious software first started making changes to the user device. The content management system can recover effected content items associated with the user device by replacing the effected versions of the content items with versions of the content items that existed immediately before the malicious software started making changes to the user device.

Abstract: One or more embodiments of a digital content system allow a user to conveniently search and/or navigate through a collection of digital content items. In particular, a user can interact with a client device to search for and identify one or more digital content items within a collection of digital content items. For example, the digital content system may provide a photo from a collection of photos via a graphical user interface. The digital content system can receive a user input identifying a selection of one or more visual features within the photo. Based on the selected visual feature(s), the digital content system may identify photos from the collection of photos that include the identified visual feature(s) and provide access to the identified photos via the graphical user interface.

A collection management system receives a request for collection item metadata associated with a collection item. Collection management system filters the content item metadata to remove a portion of the content item metadata comprising privileged information. Collection management system retrieves collection item metadata using the collection item identifier. Collection management system adds the filtered content item metadata to the collection item metadata.
