  • Patent number: 4917431
Abstract: A protective liner assembly for the cargo compartment of an automotive van comprising a plurality of polyethylene panels for the floor, side walls, doors and ceiling. The liner assembly includes a floor assembly, a ceiling assembly and right and left wall assemblies. Each of the wall assemblies include vertically spaced apart ribs which extend the longitudinal extent of the assemblies for providing strength and impact protection. One of the side wall assemblies includes multiple panels which may be adjusted to compensate for dimensional variations. Similarly, the ceiling assembly includes multiple panels which are adjustable relative to each other with the panels being secured to the ceiling of the cargo compartment by a flexible fastening assembly. Thus, the liner assembly provides protection to the cargo walls and insulation against road noises and the like.

  • Patent number: 4848626
Abstract: A container adapted for use as a tool or utility box which is constructed to provide maximum flexibility in storing articles therein. The body of the container comprises side walls having inwardly directed ribs and ledge portions for slidably supporting a tray assembly. Smaller compartments may be formed within the interior of the container by using specially constructed dividers that cooperate with the inwardly directed ribs. The height of the dividers is less than the length of the side walls so that articles may be supported above the compartments formed by the dividers. Further, the construction of the container walls and tray assembly permits various sizes and types of articles to be stored and segregated within the container.

  • Patent number: 4768822
Abstract: A retainer for securing a flangeless cargo liner within a truck bed compartment such that the top rail of the truck bed compartment is unobstructed. In a first embodiment, the retainer includes a cup-shaped insertable portion having an outwardly extending rim around the periphery of its open end. A series of adjustment openings are located on one of the sides of the insertable portion for receiving a fastener. The retainer is inserted through an aperture in one of the liner walls and the fastener is inserted into one of the adjustment openings for engagement against a ledge wall of the truck bed compartment. In a modified form, the insertable portion of the retainer is generally triangular in cross-section to permit easier access between the installation tool and fastener.

Abstract: A retainer for securing a flangeless cargo liner within a truck bed compartment such that the top rail of the truck bed compartment is unobstructed. The retainer including a clip portion with outwardly extending divergent legs. The legs being resilient such that they may be squeezed in the direction of the clip portion so that they may be inserted behind the top rail and clipped to the edge of the liner. The fastener is formed from a single piece of wire which is first bent to form the clip portion and then further bent to form the divergent legs. The legs diverge outwardly from the clip portion in both the horizontal and vertical planes to facilitate retention of the liner.
