Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing cytidine 5?-monophospho-N-acetyl-neuraminic acid (CMP-Neu5Ac, 1) from low-cost substrates N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GlcNAc), pyruvate, cytidine and polyphosphate in a single reaction mixture with a set of optionally immobilized or optionally co-immobilized enzymes comprising N-acylglucosamine 2-epimerase (AGE), an N-acetylneuraminate lyase (NAL), an N-acylneuraminate cytidylyltransferase (CSS), a uridine kinase (UDK), a uridine monophosphate kinase and a polyphosphate kinase 3 (PPK3). Further, said process may be adapted to produce Neu5Acylated i.e. sialylated biomolecules and biomolecules including a saccharide, a peptide, a protein, a glycopeptide, a glycoprotein, a glycolipid, a glycan, an antibody, and a glycoconjugate, in particular, an antibody drug conjugate, and a carbohydrate conjugate vaccine, or a flavonoid.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a sealing layer that comprises a poly(vinyl alcohol) homopolymer or a poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene) copolymer, a polyurethane, and a conductive filler. The sealing layer shows good barrier properties to a non-polar fluid. The sealing layer can be used to seal microcells of electro-optic devices, contributing to improved good electro-optic performance of the device, especially at low temperatures.

Abstract: A thermal management system for an energy storage battery pack includes energy storage battery packs and temperature control sub-units. Each energy storage battery pack includes battery modules and a main housing used for accommodating the battery modules; the temperature control sub-units are mounted on the energy storage battery packs, respectively; each temperature control sub-unit includes a speed regulation fan used for dissipating heat for the energy storage battery pack, a temperature detector used for sensing a temperature of the battery modules and a pulse width modulation (PWM) controller; the speed regulation fan, the temperature detector and the PWM controller of one of the temperature control sub-units are in signal connection, the PWM controller is used for adjusting the duty ratio of the speed regulation fan according to the difference value between the temperature of the battery modules and a temperature threshold; and the temperature threshold is a preset value.
Abstract: A modular aircraft galley insert for performing thermal cycling for PCR testing includes a housing having a sample module for receiving a sample to be tested, a thermal module thermally connected to the sample module for cycling temperatures of the sample to be tested, a power module for providing power to the thermal module, a detector module configured to analyze the sample and connected to receive power from the power module, and a connectivity module for communicating results of a test from the detector module to a remote location with respect to the housing.

Abstract: A stationary machine tool for machining, in particular core drilling, comprising a tool stand with a first tool stand housing interior. A chip guidance system comprises a magnet, wherein the magnet is arranged in the first tool stand housing interior such that chips produced by a machining process and entering the first tool stand interior are deflected by the chip guidance system.
Abstract: A warehouse dock door control system (101) has a system controller (147), an interior side unit (144), an exterior side unit (142) comprising a key repository and a key detector. The key detector is configured to detect and identify a specific vehicle key having unique identification data associated therewith. The key detector is configured to detect the presence of the key within the key repository and to read the identification data associated therewith. The controller is configured to use the identification data to determine whether the vehicle key is an authorised vehicle key. In response to the determination, the controller communicates with the interior side unit to authorise opening of the dock door and controls the exterior side unit to secure the vehicle key in the key repository to inhibit removal therefrom until a signal is received indicating that a loading or unloading process is complete.
