Abstract: Compositions, methods, and systems for manufacturing articles, particularly containers and packaging materials, having a particle packed, highly inorganically filled, cellular matrix are disclosed. Suitable inorganically filled mixtures are prepared by mixing together a starch-based binder, a solvent, inorganic aggregates, and optimal admixtures, e.g., fibers, mold-releasing agents, rheology-modifying agents, plasticizers, coating materials, and dispersants, in the correct proportions to form an article which has the desired performance criteria. The inorganically filled mixtures have a predetermined viscosity and are heated between molds at an elevated temperature and pressure to produce form-stable articles having a desired shape and a selectively controlled cellular, structure matrix. The molded articles may be placed in a high humidity chamber to obtain the necessary flexibility for their intended use.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a surfactant solution, and to using an aqueous solution of the surfactants, optionally with an antifoaming additive, for removing or washing MFAC contaminants from equipment, sludge, scale, and soil, among others. Examples of MFAC and related contaminants that can be removed by practicing the invention include at least a member of the tetraalkylleads, including but not limited too, tetramethyllead, trimethylethyllead, dimethyldiethyllead, methyltriethyllead, and tetraethyllead. While any suitable surfactant can be used for practicing the invention, an aqueous solution containing at least one member from the group of nonionic alcohol ethoxylates, including but not limited to the polyethoxylated aliphatic alcohols, is particularly effective at removing MFAC contaminants.

The radio/recorder equipment has a front plate and at least an electric communication terminal socket. The electric module has a sound source select switch, a pre-amplifier, a power amplifier, a compact disk deck, a tape deck, a radio receiver, an antenna, a loudspeaker, a microphone, and the electric communication terminal socket.
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for displaying product information data related to at least one product. The method includes the steps of transmitting a data request from the remote computer to the main computer, transmitting the variable data and display information from the main computer to tie remote computer, transmitting updated constant data from the main computer to the remote computer, and storing the updated constant data in the memory of the remote computer. The method also includes the steps of integrating constant data stored in the memory of the remote computer with the variable data received from the main computer using the display information received from the main computer to format the constant data and the variable data to generate the product information data related to the at least one product, and displaying the product information data generated by the remote computer during the integrating step on a monitor coupled to the remote computer.
Abstract: Copolyether ester elastomers are provided which contain epoxide compounds. The compositions show improved bloom resistance in the presence of diamines with minimum increase in melt viscosity. Also disclosed are methods to improve appearance and eliminate bloom from finished products comprising thermoplastic copolyesters by lowering the level of acid terminated oligomers in the thermoplastic copolyesters with epoxide compounds.
Abstract: This invention provides a crystalline chromium fluoride having a cubic crystal structure (i.e., chromium trifluoride having an X-ray diffraction powder pattern as shown in Table I); and a catalytic composition comprising cubic chromium trifluoride. This invention also provides a process for changing the fluorine content of halogenated hydrocarbons containing from one to six carbon atoms, in the presence of a chromium-containing catalyst. The process is characterized by the chromium-containing catalyst comprising cubic chromium trifluoride.

Abstract: In offset presses in which the printing cylinder is provided with a tensioning spindle or reel rod the printing plate usually has a hooked edge which is inserted in a gap in the printing cylinder. The printing plate is then wrapped around the plate cylinder for insertion in the spindle within the plate cylinder. The tensioning spindle carries a slot for receiving an end of the printing plate. After insertion of the plate end in this receiving slot partial rotation of the spindle tightens the printing plate. A substantial amount of skill is required to fix a printing plate on a printing cylinder. It is not easy to align the gap in the printing cylinder with the slot in the tensioning spindle. Two hands are usually required. Herein the tensioning spindle end shaft carries a pinion capable of moving a rack associated with it when the tensioning spindle is partially rotated. A spring is installed to oppose the rack movement.
Abstract: A process is provided for the bioconversion of a carbon substrate to 1,3-propanediol by a single organism utilizing either microorganisms containing the genes encoding for an active glycerol or diol dehydratase enzyme by contacting these organisms with a carbon substrate under the appropriate fermentation conditions.
