Abstract: A method is described for using an E-domain peptide for the induction of apoptosis in a cancer cells. In particular, the invention relates to methods for using a-type E-domain peptide from trout IGF and/or a b-type E-domain peptide from human IGF for the induction of apoptosis in a broad spectrum of cancer cells. The peptide species can be a homologue of the E-domain of IGF-1 or a fusion protein comprising the E-domain of IGF-1. During a first communication session between a user station and a remote computer system, the user station provides first user identification information to the remote computer system. The remote computer system also provides second user identification information to the user station, which is stored at the user station. Abstract: A method for producing a multilayer two-tone finish on a substrate such as an automobile or truck body or parts thereof. The method includes the steps of applying two different primers to a substrate, applying an accent color to a portion of the substrate and baking the applied coatings. The accent area is then masked and a main color is applied to the unmasked portion of the substrate. The mask is then removed from the accent color area, a clearcoat is applied to the applied main and accent colors and the substrate is baked to dry and cure the applied coating compositions. The clearcoat composition carbamate material, a curing agent and a hydroxy functional silane component. The method and the clearcoat composition provides a substantially durable and wrinkle free appearance and excellent adhesion to waterborne and solventborne basecoats, baked or unbaked.
Abstract: The invention relates to a paste-like mass that can be used in electrochemical structural elements, including a heterogeneous mixture of (1.) a matrix (A) containing at least one organic polymer, precursors thereof, or prepolymers thereof, or consisting of said components, (2.) an electrochemically activatable inorganic material in the form of a solid substance (B), said material not being soluble in said matrix and in water, and (3.) a material (C) which is capable of improving the transport of a liquid electrolyte into and the storage thereof within the structural element, with the proviso that said material (C) is not a material which simultaneously has conductivity improving properties, if said solid substance (B) is a material that is suitable as an electrode material. From said mass, layers (films) and electrochemical composite layers can be produced that are subsequently impregnated with an electrolyte solution preferably of electrolytes dissolved in plasticizers for said matrix (A).

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for making a filled fluoropolymer bearing comprising providing an aqueous fluoropolymer dispersion comprising fluoropolymer particles and anionic polyelectrolyte dispersing agent in an amount sufficient for stabilization. The dispersion contains less than about 300 ppm fluorosurfactant based on the weight of the dispersion. The dispersion is coagulated to make a mush and a bearing filler is added to the dispersion prior to or after making the mush. The mush containing bearing filler is applied onto a bearing substrate to produce a coated substrate which is sintered and formed into a bearing.

Abstract: This invention relates to a cerium-zirconium-base composite oxide, which is useful, e.g., for the purification of exhaust gas discharged from combustion engines such as internal combustion engines and boilers and can release a high level of oxygen in a low temperature region, a method for producing the same, an oxygen storage/release component using the same, an exhaust gas purification catalyst, and an exhaust gas purification method.
