Abstract: Methods for fabricating a capacitor are provided. In the methods, a dielectric may be formed on a metal (e.g. nickel) substrate, and a copper electrode is formed thereon, followed by the thinning of the metal substrate from its non-coated face, and subsequently forming a copper electrode on the thinned, non-coated face of the substrate.

Abstract: This invention relates to a thin reinforced nonwoven fabric for fire blocking an article, articles containing such fabrics, and methods for making the fabrics and fire blocking the articles. When exposed to heat or flame, the fabric is capable of increasing its thickness by at least three times. The fabric comprises an open mesh scrim having a having crimped, heat-resistant organic fibers compressed thereon and held in a compressed state by a thermoplastic binder. When subjected to high heat or flame, the binder in the structure softens and flows, releasing the restrained crimped fibers and allowing the thickness of the fabric to increase dramatically.
Abstract: The invention concerns flame retardant fabrics made from mixtures of polypyridobisimidazole fibers with cellulose fibers that have been treated to make them flame retardant and articles made therefrom.

Abstract: This invention concerns a flame-resistant garment having an outer shell fabric comprising 5 to 50 parts by weight of a polypyridobisimidazole fiber having an inherent viscosity of greater than 20 dl/g and 50 to 95 parts by weight of polybenzimidazole fiber.
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for mounting two or more cylindrically-shaped printing forms onto a cylindrically-shaped base. The base can be a print cylinder or an adapter mounted onto a print cylinder. The method and apparatus provide for positioning the two or more printing forms in register on the base. The two or more printing forms are axially oriented on the base using pressurized air as an air cushion between the base and the printing forms, positioned in a registration position, and engaged by a holding member to maintain the two or more printing forms in their respective registration position.

Abstract: A method for wafer-to-wafer bonding of a sensor readout circuitry separately fabricated with a silicon substrate to a photodiode device made of non-silicon materials grown from a separate substrate. In preferred embodiments the non-silicon materials are epitaxially grown on a silicon wafer. The bonding technique of preferred embodiments of the present invention utilizes lithographically pre-fabricated metallic interconnects to connect each of a number of pixel circuits on a readout circuit wafer to each of a corresponding number of pixel photodiodes on a photodiode wafer. The metallic interconnects are extremely small (with widths of about 2 to 4 microns) compared to prior art bump bonds with the solder balls of diameter typically larger than 20 microns. The present invention also provides alignment techniques to assure proper alignment of the interconnects during the bonding step.
Abstract: A disposable safety razor includes a blade housing and a blade disposed within the blade housing to expose a cutting edge suitable for shaving. The blade housing and the blade have complementary characteristics which result in destruction of the blade upon an attempt to remove the blade from within the blade housing. In this regard, the blade housing comprises a substantially rigid housing and the blade comprises a brittle ceramic blade. The safety razor further includes a handle attached to the blade housing. The handle is made from a pliable plastic material that forms an enclosure filled with a dispensable liquid.
Abstract: A two-element f-? lens used for a micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) laser scanning unit includes a first lens and a second lens, the first lens is a biconvex lens, the second lens is a meniscus lens of which the convex surface is disposed on a side of a MEMS mirror, at least one optical surface is an Aspherical surface in both main scanning direction and sub scanning direction, and satisfies special optical conditions. The two-element f-? lens corrects the nonlinear relationship between scanned angle and the time into the linear relationship between the image spot distances and the time. Meanwhile, the two-element f-? lens focuses the scan light to the target in the main scanning and sun scanning directions, such that the purpose of the scanning linearity effect and the high resolution scanning can be achieved.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a monitoring device for producing a target composition, such as an automotive paint or an architectural paint. The device includes a client computer in communication with a host computer and means for dispensing required items for making a desired amount of the target composition. The computer readable program code means in the computers identify one or more formulas associated with identification criteria of the target composition and dispense through means for dispensing the required items listed in the formula. The code means search for the required items in the various inventories, including updating the inventories if required. The device can be also used to control the inventory by shipping just in time any components required to produce target compositions, such as refinish tints used in automotive refinish paints.
