  • Patent number: 7780313
Abstract: A package structure for light emitting diode (LED) comprises a base, an LED die, an optical lens and a lens holder. The base comprises at least one holder cavity formed on its surface and at least one chase formed on its side surface. The lens holder comprises an opening, at least one holder stem and at least one wedge. The optical lens is arranged between the lens holder and the base, and also through the opening. The lens holder is fastened on the base by wedging the wedge with the chase and positioned on the base by embedding the holder stem into the holder cavity to enhance the positioning between the optical lens and the base, such that the optical lens can generate a desired light pattern. Therefore, the required time of a packaging process can be reduced, and the lens holder can be removed simply for replacing the optical lens, so the objective of changing the light pattern quickly can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7782593
Abstract: A carrier wafer includes a flat substrate with a top side and a bottom side. A first layer sequence, at least on the top side of the substrate, is arranged with area parallel to the substrate. The first layer sequence has an isolating layer. A flat, conductive electrode is arranged on the first layer sequence with area parallel to the substrate. Everywhere that it is not in contact with the first layer sequence, the electrode is surrounded by a second layer sequence having a layer made of an isolating material. In a region, which forms a tunnel window and on which the electrode is arranged, the first layer sequence is thinner than on the rest of its area. An electrical voltage can be applied to the substrate in such a way that the electrical field lines caused by the applied voltage pass through the tunnel window. The electrode can be charged, by means of a potential difference between the electrode and the substrate caused by the applied voltage, in that electrons tunnel through the tunnel window.

  • Patent number: 7780889
Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous dry spinning process for preparing a fiber from a polymer solution having concentrations of polymer, salt, solvent and water. After the fiber is extruded and quenched, the fiber is placed in contact with a conditioning solution comprising concentrations of solvent, salt, and water. The conditioning solution acts upon the fiber to plasticize the fiber prior to being drawn. The conditioning solution has concentrations of solvent, salt, and water so that the fiber is plasticized to the extent necessary for drawing but does not plasticize the fiber to such an extent as to re-dissolve the fiber into a polymeric solution. A heat-treated fiber manufactured from this process has improved shrinkage and can be colored to darker shades.
