Abstract: The invention provides an insulated wire having a conductor and an insulator of paste extruded PTFE fine powder around the conductor. The paste extruded insulator has at least one closed continuous longitudinal air channel spaced apart from the conductor. The invention further provides a process for forming an insulator around a conductor by paste extruding lubricated PTFE fine powder in an extrusion device comprising a die, mandrel, and at least one channel-forming member. The die and mandrel form a converging chamber leading to an extrusion orifice and the channel-forming member is positioned in the orifice. The mandrel has a central bore for supplying the conductor. Lubricated PTFE fine powder is forced through the chamber and out of the exit of the orifice as a lubricated green extrudate around the conductor forming an insulator with at least one closed longitudinal air channel spaced apart from the conductor.
Abstract: The invention relates to an ultrasonic sensor for measuring flow rates in liquid melts at high temperatures. The aim of the invention is to provide an ultrasonic sensor for carrying out local, continuous, reliable rate measurements in hot melts. To achieve this, the ultrasonic sensor contains an ultrasonic waveguide that is connected to the piezoelectric transducer and consists of a material with low acoustic damping properties in a temperature range relevant for the area of application of above 200 DEG C, said material being chemically resistant to the melt. In addition, the end face of the ultrasonic waveguide facing the melt is closed and can be wetted by the melt.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a carbon-containing material by the carbon or carbon and another component electron-beam vaporization in vacuum and by the consequent condensation thereof consisting in reflecting a carbon vapour flow with the aid of a reflector at least once on a path between a crucible and the substrate, in capturing atoms and clusters of a transition metal, in directing the pure carbon vapour flow to the substrate, wherein it meets the vapour flow of a second organic or non-organic component, and in condensing in the substrate heating and/or cooling conditions. When required, a mixture of several neutral or reaction gases is supplied to a vacuum condensation chamber/area.

Abstract: The invention relates to the field of chemistry and relates to long-term stable oil PTFE dispersions, such as can be used, for example, in transmissions or bearings, and a method for the production thereof. The object of the present invention is therefore to disclose a long-term stable oil PTFE dispersion as well as a simple and cost-effective method for the production thereof. The object is attained with an oil PTFE dispersion comprising PTFE particles and a monoolefinically or polyolefinically unsaturated oil, wherein molecules of the olefinically unsaturated oil are covalently/chemically coupled to PTFE (primary) particle surfaces via radical reactions, and wherein a permanent charge separation between the PTFE particle surfaces and the coupled oil molecules is present and a fine dispersion of the PTFE particles in the oil or oil mixture is present.
Abstract: A method of treating a surface of at least one part by individual sources of an electron cyclotron resonance plasma is characterized by subjecting the part(s) to at least one movement of revolution with regard to at least one fixed linear row of elementary sources. The linear row or rows of elementary sources are disposed parallel to the axis or axes of revolution of the part or parts.

Abstract: Transition metal complexes of selected monoanionic phosphine ligands, which also contain a selected Group 15 or 16 (IUPAC) element and which are coordinated to a Group 3 to 11 (IUPAC) transition metal or a lanthanide metal, are polymerization catalysts for the (co)polymerization of olefins such as ethylene and ?-olefins, and the copolymerization of such olefins with polar group-containing olefins. These and other nickel complexes of neutral and monoanionic bidentate ligands copolymerize ethylene and polar comonomers, especially acrylates, at relatively high ethylene pressures and surprisingly high temperatures, and give good incorporation of the polar comonomers and good polymer productivity. These copolymers are often unique structures, which are described.

Abstract: A method is presented for producing a silicon solar cell with a back-etched emitter preferably with a selective emitter and a corresponding solar cell. According to one aspect, the method comprises the following method steps: producing a two-dimensionally extending emitter at an emitter surface of a solar cell substrate; applying an etching barrier onto first partial zones of the emitter surface; etching the emitter surface in second partial zones of the emitter surface not covered by the etching barrier; removing the etching barrier; and producing metal contacts at the first partial zones. During the method, especially during the etching of the emitter surface in the second partial zones, a porous silicon layer is advantageously produced, which is then oxidised. This oxidised porous silicon layer can subsequently be etched away together with any phosphorus glass that may be present.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring flow rates in liquid melts in a temperature range above 200 DEG C. using an ultrasonic generator and to an associated ultrasonic waveguide according to the ultrasonic Doppler method. The aim of the invention is to provide good signal incoupling and outcoupling. This is achieved by the preparation of the wettability of the end face of the ultrasonic waveguide before the measuring operation, subsequent direct incoupling of ultrasonic measuring signals into the melt at an angle that is not equal to 90 DEG, achieved by the immersion of the end face of the ultrasonic waveguide into the melt, outcoupling of the ultrasonic signals reflected in the melt via the end face of the ultrasonic waveguide and routing of said signals to an evaluation circuit. To prepare the wettability of the end face, the latter is mechanically and chemically cleaned and subsequently coated with a suitable material.
