Abstract: The present invention relates to a thermally-responsive film that may, for example, be affixed to an exterior surface of a building to help control its temperature as it is exposed to the sun. The thermally-responsive film has a continuous phase and a discontinuous phase. The discontinuous phase comprises a plurality of droplets, each of which comprises the light-absorbing suspending fluid and the light-reflecting particles. The light-reflecting particles are dispersed in a vehicle that is either a second fluid that is immiscible with the suspending fluid and has a higher volumetric coefficient of thermal expansion than the suspending fluid, or a combination of materials that together have a higher volumetric coefficient of thermal expansion than the suspending fluid that together with the light-reflecting particles form composite particles.
Abstract: The invention comprises a thermal power supply process for a treatment system for raw material. It also refers to a system operating this process and a facility operating said system. The process comprises steps of gasification of dry raw material containing carbon (MPCS) in a first reactor by a gaseous flow of gasification containing CO2, oxidation of gasification gases by oxygen holders in a second reactor and an activation of the oxygen holders as used during the oxidation in a third reactor.

Abstract: A pixel array includes multiple scan lines, multiple gate lines, multiple data lines and multiple pixel structures. The scan lines are disposed on a substrate. The gate lines intersect with the scan lines to demarcate multiple first unit regions and multiple second unit regions. Each gate line electrically connects to one of the scan lines. The data lines intersect with the scan lines and pass through the first unit regions. Each data line is located between two adjacent gate lines. The pixel structures are disposed on the first unit regions. Each pixel structure includes an active device and a pixel electrode. The active device is driven by one corresponding scan line and connects with one corresponding data line. An orthographic projection of each pixel electrode on the substrate is non-overlapped with or incompletely overlapped with an orthographic projection of the corresponding gate lines on the substrate.
Abstract: A legrest assembly adapted for use with an aircraft passenger seat including a pair of spaced parallel support members adapted to extend forward from the front of the seat, a legrest pivotally supported on ends of the support members configured to pivot from near vertical when stowed to near horizontal when deployed, a brake mechanism for stopping forward deployment of the legrest, and an actuator for driving forward deployment of the legrest.

Abstract: The present invention provides driving methods for electrophoretic color display devices. The backplane system used for the driving methods is found to be simpler which renders color display devices more cost effective. More specifically, the driving method comprises first driving all pixels towards a color state by modulating only the common electrode, followed by driving all pixels towards their desired color states by maintaining the common electrode grounded and applying different voltages to the pixel electrodes.
