Abstract: A reusable self-supporting field director for use in heating an article in a microwave oven is characterized by a plurality of vanes, with each vane extending radially outwardly from a central axis. Each vane is angularly adjacent to two other vanes and is attached to each other at their inner ends. Each vane has a predetermined thickness dimension. Each vane each vane has a substrate formed from an electrically non-conductive material having a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion, and an electrically conductive sheath having a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion that is different from the coefficient of thermal expansion of the substrate. The sheath encases the substrate so that a portion of the first and second major surfaces and a portion of the first and second minor surfaces of each vane are covered by an electrically conductive material.

Each vane is formed from a pair of electrically non-conductive outer laminae, each having a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion, and an inner core formed of an electrically conductive material. The core has a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion that is different from the coefficient of thermal expansion of the outer laminae. The inner core and the outer laminae are arranged in a laterally symmetric fashion with the inner core being completely enclosed within the non-conductive outer laminae so that thermal expansion effects due to heating are equalized across the thickness of each vane.
Abstract: A tool is provided for designing electronic games of chance such as slot or fruit machine games. Software that runs on a computer or remote server takes user inputs and selections such as game rules, input data, and pointers to or import of files (such as sound and graphics files). The output data of such a tool may be a file or parameters that specify one or more of hit rate, return to player, pay-table, symbol mapping, symbols, game theme, risk profile, rules of game play, denomination, language, currency, display, simulation results, pay methods, triggers for game features or jackpots.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a material and a method of substantially eliminating destructive low-temperature, humidity-enhanced phase transformation of yttria-stabilized zirconia in general, as well as eliminating low-temperature degradation of yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline ceramic (Y-TZP). The martensitic-type phase transformation from tetragonal to monoclinic is accompanied by severe strength degradation in a moist environment at low-temperature, specifically at room temperature as well as at body temperature. This class of materials has been chosen as the packaging material for small implantable neural-muscular sensors and stimulators because of the high fracture toughness and high mechanical strength. This destructive phase transformation has been substantially eliminated, thus ensuring the safety of long-term implants, by subjecting the sintered components to post-machining hot isostatic pressing, such that the average grain size is less than about 0.5 microns.

The base provides threaded holes and the side plates provide through holes and threaded holes so that the container can be built up with bolts engaging with the threaded holes. It is characterized in that no holes and no bolts expose outside the container with reinforced strength such that integrity and smoothness of the container can be obtained and the fasteners inside the container are free from water and unable to hurt foreign objects. In addition, the container is capable of being set up fast easily to enhance facility of assembling job.
Abstract: The invention concerns lipids functionalized with a terminal C?C double bond which can be transformed into an anchor group for binding to a substrate surface. The invention further concerns lipids comprising such an anchor group for binding to a substrate surface. The invention also concerns self-assembled monolayers of lipids on substrates, in particular on silicon oxide substrates. The lipids and the lipid monolayers or bilayers containing these lipids can be used to produce biomimetic supported membrane systems. These membrane systems can be directly anchored on silicon microelectronic devices. After the optional incorporation of functional molecules such as membrane-associated proteins such systems can used for applications such as model systems for examining biological membranes, screening methods, sensors and bioelectronic devices such as biocomputers.

Abstract: Disclosed are an absorbent and antibacterial polystyrene paper, a method for producing thereof, and an absorbent and antibacterial tray using the same. The absorbent and antibacterial polystyrene paper according to the present invention may be useful to absorb into a paper liquids, such as blood, moisture and the like, which is generated from foods in packing the foods such as meats, fishes, etc., by adding an antistatic agent to polystyrene raw materials and foaming the resultant mixture to produce absorbent and antibacterial polystyrene paper and tray, wherein a plurality of absorption holes are formed on one surface thereof. Here, the absorbent and antibacterial polystyrene paper according to the present invention is produced by mixing, foaming and extrusion-melting 91 to 95% by weight of polystyrene, 2 to 4% by weight of a nucleating material master batch and 3 to 5% by weight of an antistatic agent master batch, wherein a plurality of absorption holes are formed on a surface of a molded sheet.
