Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for generating a unified user profile. For example, a system may store, on a client device, a token under a first domain name. The token may specify state data for a communication session between the client device and a first content publisher addressed by the first domain name. The communication session utilizes a stateless communication protocol. The system may then generate a redirection resource locator. The redirection resource locator may include an identifier for a web object belonging to a second content publisher addressed by a second domain name and the token. The system then stores, on the client device, the token under the second domain name by directing the client device to send a web object request generated based at least in part on the redirection resource locator to the second content publisher. The web object request may request the web object from the second content publisher and including the token.

Abstract: A system or method for implementing working capital for merchants is provided. In particular, a payment service provider may provide working capital to merchants based on the merchant's sales or payment history. For example, based on a merchant's sales or payment history, a close-ended (fixed amount) loan based on expected customer sales, with no fixed duration, no end date, and no interest, is provided to the merchant The “loan” may be viewed as a hybrid cash advance/loan product. Further, the repayment for the loan may be derived from future sales. The payment service provider may monitor sales volume of the merchant based on payment activities at the merchant. Based on the loan term, a portion of the sales revenue of the merchant may be directed for repayment of the loan. Thus, the repayment may be contingent on sales volume to provide the merchant with flexibility in loan repayment.

Abstract: A user interface is provided which presents a text box representing an area in which a user can enter a proxy bid for an online auction, the text box being presented within a button operable by the user to activate the proxy bid. Then input is received from the user in the text box presented within the button. The input is then placed as a bid in the online auction upon receiving a selection of the button, the selection being indicated by an activation of the button outside the area represented by the text box.

Abstract: Methods and systems for analyzing, ordering and presenting item listings are described. In one example embodiment, a search query is processed to identify item listings satisfying the search query. Then, for each item listing that satisfies the search query, a ranking score is derived and assigned to the item listing. The ranking score is based in part on a relevance score, a listing quality score and a business rules score (or, adjustment factor). Finally, the item listings are ordered, based on their corresponding ranking score, and presented in order in a search results page.

Abstract: A method and system to automatically categorize a merchant listing in an electronic marketplace are provided. The method includes parsing the category information submitted by a seller to derive a first category identifier. A first search is performed to locate the first category identifier in a first database containing a listing of category identifiers. If no match is found, the first category identifier is identified as expired or invalid. A second search is performed on a second database that includes mapping information of an expired category identifier to a new category identifier. If a match is found, the first category identifier is assigned as the new category identifier, thereby enabling the listing to be listed in the updated category automatically.

Abstract: A system and method for orchestration of customization for a user experience is disclosed. The apparatus in an example embodiment includes identifying a plurality of modules included in a webpage; discovering dependencies between each of the modules of the plurality of modules; designating at least one module of the plurality of modules for retaining dependency state information, the dependency state information including information indicative of states of dependencies between modules of the plurality of modules; and executing the modules of the webpage in an order indicated by the dependency state information.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for billing for service provided to destination device according to the calling plan of the individual receiving the call. An authenticated identity for a callee answering a call placed to a destination device is received at an intermediary device. The intermediary device then accesses a billing plan for the authenticated identity of the callee and loads the billing plan for specifying charges for the call, such that telephone service billed to the callee is accessible at multiple destination devices.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system is operable to: receive a purchase transaction from a purchaser, the purchase transaction including purchase transaction information including a purchaser credit number associated with a purchaser credit account previously established on a payment site, use the purchaser credit number to obtain associated purchaser credit account information maintained at a payment site, receive from the payment site a disposition of the purchase transaction, and receive from the payment site purchaser-specific information to streamline the purchase transaction.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods to respond to a request for data. The system receives a request to search for the data based on a criterion and to populate data objects with the data. The request is further used to identify columns that determine data sources to query. The system performs a search of a logical table based on the criterion to identify a plurality of rows in the logical table. The system further generates a first plurality of tuples based on the plurality of rows to identify a first plurality of physical tables that are mapped to the logical table. The first plurality of tuples includes a first tuple and a second tuple. The system further queries the data sources for the data to generate results by using the first plurality of tuples. The queries of the data sources are partially successful.

Abstract: A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for responsive web page delivery based on network bandwidth. Upon initiation of a network communication session, a bandwidth of a network connection of the client device involved in the network communication session is determined. At least one initial display element to provide as part of a webpage for display on the client device is selected based on the bandwidth of the network connection. Instructions are then provided to the client device which cause the client device to display the at least one display element. In some embodiments, an updated bandwidth is subsequently determined and updated display elements are selected based on the updated bandwidth.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for pool-based identity generation and use for service access is disclosed. The method in an example embodiment includes seeding an identity generator with a private key; retrieving independently verifiable data corresponding to a service consumer; using the independently verifiable data to create signed assertions corresponding to the service consumer; generating a non-portable identity document associated with the service consumer, the identity document including the signed assertions; signing the identity document with the private key; and conveying the signed identity document to the service consumer via a secure link.

Abstract: A method for authenticating an access attempt includes detecting an access attempt by a user device over a network. A challenge-response authentication is provided over the network to the user device. The challenge-response authentication includes an image having a plurality of image objects. The challenge-response authentication is operable to display the image such that at least one of the plurality of image objects is in focus and at least one of the plurality of image objects is not in focus. In response to providing the challenge-response authentication, an authentication response is received from the user device over the network, and it is determined whether the authentication response includes an indication of the at least one of the plurality of image objects that is in focus to determine whether to authenticate or deny the access attempt.

Abstract: In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, methods and apparatus are provided for flexible and user-friendly navigation of loaded media in a multi-media presentation, such that a user may be able to view and/or edit the presentation. In one embodiment, a method for navigating loaded media comprises loading a page of a collage document to a client device, the page having a plurality of layers with each layer being associated with a media object. The method further includes creating a list of layers of the loaded page, each layer indexed by at least a position in the collage document; navigating the collage document in at least one direction and at at least one speed based on user input; and filtering the list of layers based on at least the position in the collage document and a visual window of a user interface to display visible layers of the page within the visual window. A client device for navigating loaded media is also disclosed.

A graphical interface module arranges an image in a display element. The arrangement of the image in the display element defines a space between the perimeters of image and the display element. A color detection module determines an estimate of a color of the image about the perimeter of the image. A background generator module determines a variation of color of the image about the perimeter of the image. The background generator module determines a background based at least on the estimate of the color and the variation of color. A display module provides the arrangement of the image in the display element with the background at least filling a portion of the space defined between the perimeters.

The dependency model indicates that the first task is to be executed prior to the second task. The example system schedules an execution of the first task, which is scheduled to use a particular data processing resource. The scheduling is based on the dependency model.
