Abstract: A system, a method, and a device for authentication of a product includes one or more databases configured to store data of one or more products, and a user device communicatively coupled to the databases via a network. The user device includes at least one memory configured to store computer executable instructions, and at least one processor configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to receive, from an authenticator, product search data of the product, and to search the product in the databases based on the product search data. The product is listed by a user for authentication, and the product is authenticated by scanning an authentication tag attached to the product. The authentication tag is pre-programmed and becomes inactive when detached from the product. There is also a dual-purpose device for authenticating a commercial product and associating a brand with the authentication of the product.

Abstract: An audio output device may include one or more audio sensors configured to detect ambient sound and noises around the audio output device. The audio output device may include a controller configured to analyze the detected sound and noises and may adjust audio settings of the audio output device accordingly. In an embodiment, the controller may analyze and recognize that the detected noise is another person's attempt to get the user's attention or to talk to the user, such as audio sound of the user's name. In response, the controller may stop the audio output or lower the volume of the audio output.

Abstract: A system and method for obtaining relevant information for identifying items that are being listed for sale via electronic marketplace applications. More specifically, the systems and methods relate to obtaining relevant attribute values and/or information for a plurality of items at relatively the same time. In aspects, the systems and methods involve receiving an electronic file or folder having a plurality of electronic representations of each of the items. The electronic file or folder is then parsed to separate the different items for identification. Once separated, the system and methods involve sending the separate items to an identification service and retrieving the separate information for each item and returned to the requesting device.

Abstract: Methods and system for item matching are described. In one embodiment, compatibility-based text for an item may be accessed. A compatibility identifier may be identified based on the compatibility-based text. The compatibility identifier may be associated with an item cluster. The compatibility identifier may be used to identify a plurality of matching items. A result may be provided based on identification of the plurality of matching items. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for using adversarial learning for fine-grained image search. An image search system receives a search query that includes an input image depicting an object. The search system generates, using a generator, a vector representation of the object in a normalized view. The generator was trained based on a set of reference images of known objects in multiple views, and feedback data received from an evaluator that indicates performance of the generator at generating vector representations of the known objects in the normalized view. The evaluator including a discriminator sub-module, a normalizer sub-module, and a semantic embedding sub-module that generate the feedback data. The image search system identifies, based on the vector representation of the object, a set of other images depicting the object, and returns at least one of the other images in response to the search query.

Abstract: A machine may be configured to perform image evaluation of images depicting items for sale and to provide recommendations for improving the images depicting the items to increase the sales of the items depicted in the images. For example, the machine accesses a result of a user behavior analysis. The machine receives an image of an item from a user device. The machine per forms an image evaluation of the received image based on an analysis of the received image and the result of the user behavior analysis. The performing of the image evaluation may include determining a likelihood of a user engaging in a desired user behavior in relation to the received image. Then, the machine generates, based on the evaluation of the received image, an output that references the received image and indicates the likelihood of a user engaging in the desired behavior.

Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-signal fault analysis are described. The system receives signal message information, over a network, from a collection device comprised of a plurality of mobile devices including a first mobile device and a second mobile device that are associated with a first user. The first signal message information includes a first maintenance message including characterization information that was received by the first mobile device from a component that includes a sensor that operates to sense a first part that is assembled into a vehicle. The second signal message information includes signal information that was received by the second mobile device including an audio signal that a microphone in the second mobile device sensed. The system analyzes the multi-signal information to diagnose a problem and communicate a message to the first user with a diagnosis of the problem.

Abstract: A method and a system for making contextual recommendations to users on a network-based system. For example, activity associated with a user interacting with a network-based system is tracked. Based, at least in part, on the tracked user activity on the network-based system, a recommendation relationship type is selected. The recommendation relationship type can be either a substitute relationship type or a complement relationship type. A recommended object can be selected based at least in part on the recommendation relationship type and a first object accessed by the user interacting with the network-based system. A recommendation can be generated for the recommended object for presentation to the user interacting with the network-based system.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for real-time audio processing employs a gaze detection sensor to detect a direction of a user's gaze and output a gaze signal corresponding to the detected direction of the user's gaze. A digital signal processing unit responds to a plurality of signals corresponding to a plurality of sounds received at the apparatus, and the determined direction of gaze to identify a signal of interest from the plurality of signals using the gaze signal. The signal of interest is processed for output to the user. In embodiments, a microphone array provides the plurality of signals. An imaging sensor may work with either the microphone array or the gaze detection sensor to identify the signal of interest.

Abstract: Automated determination of web page rendering performance techniques and systems are described. In one example, a web page including multiple user-interactive elements that can be selected or navigated via user input is received. A frame rendering system is employed to automatically identify the user-interactive elements and generate scripts to simulate user input at the user-interactive elements. The generated scripts are then used to simulate user input at the user-interactive elements. The scripts may be generated to simulate user interaction via a variety of different device types, and under a variety of different network conditions. During the simulation, a rendering performance score for the web page is generated by monitoring rendering performance relative to a threshold rendering rate.

Abstract: A networked system receives, from a device of a user, a selection of an item from a list for monitoring. The network system also receives, from the device of the user, a condition that triggers the reporting of news for the selected item. The network system monitors for news for the selected item. A determination is made as to whether the condition that triggers the reporting of the news is satisfied. In response to determining that the condition that triggers the reporting of the news is satisfied, the networked system transmits a notification to the user indicating the news for the selected item.

Abstract: In accordance with techniques for context-driven generation of diverse questions, a machine learning model receives a first target question, a second target question, and a context. Based on the context and one or more words of the first target question, a first decoder of the machine learning model outputs a first representation of candidate words to follow the one or more words of the first target question. Based on the context and one or more words of the second target question, a second decoder of the machine learning model outputs a second representation of candidate words to follow the one or more words of the second target question. The machine learning model is fine-tuned to generate diverse questions for a given context based on a diversity loss that captures a degree of variance between the first representation and the second representation.

Abstract: An application configured to be dynamically and/or incrementally updated to tailor capabilities of the application to areas of interest of a user is disclosed. The application receives one or more task-specific modules for enhancing a task-specific capability of the application. The one or more task-specific modules are identified from among a plurality of task-specific modules, based on user data indicative of interaction of the user with an electronic marketplace. The one or more task-specific modules are used to update a general module configured to implement the task-specific capability of the application to create a customized application. The customized application is used to perform a task-specific operation based on an input provided by the user, and a result of the task-specific operation to be presented to the user.

Abstract: A search engine is provided that generates search results proportional to a natural distribution. Search results identified and ranked by the search engine for a search query are redistributed so that a fixed number of top ranked search results include search result attributes proportional to the natural distribution, as determined from interaction tracking of prior search results. A natural distribution index mapping prior search queries to search result attributes and a proportional representation of interactions with the search result attributes is generated. The natural distribution is determined from the proportional representation of interactions. The search engine redistributes the fixed number of top ranked search results by minimizing a gap between the ranked set of search results for the search query and the natural distribution.

Abstract: A rack mountable bracket is described. The bracket is mountable to a rack configured for mounting equipment. The rack is also configured according to a rack standard (e.g., EIA-310) that specifies how rails of the rack are disposed, one rail to another, and how a strip of holes disposed along a length of each rail is spaced, one hole to another. In one or more implementations, the bracket includes a pair of mounting edges for mounting the bracket to a mounting pair of the rails using hole strips of the mounting pair of rails. The bracket also includes an equipment mounting rail having a hole strip disposed along a length of the rail with holes spaced according to the rack standard. The equipment mounting rail is disposed between the mounting edges, such that when the bracket is mounted to the mounting pair of rails the bracket is horizontally oriented.

Abstract: An item sorting system is described. The item sorting system includes at least one bin that holds items to be sorted and a light source that illuminates the items stored in the at least one bin. In implementations, the at least one bin includes walls that direct light, received from the light source via a first surface, for emission via a second surface facing an interior of the at least one bin. The item sorting system further includes a recognition device that identifies the items for use in sorting the items. The item sorting system further includes an end effector that manipulates the items during sorting. In some implementations, the end effector includes tips that apply a gentle vacuum force to individually manipulate items in a manner that allows for efficient sorting without damaging the items.

Abstract: Different action user-interface components in a comparison view are described. Initially, a selection is received to display a comparison view via a user interface of a listing platform. Multiple listings of the listing platform are selected for inclusion in the comparison view. A comparison view system determines which action of a plurality of actions, used by the listing platform, to associate with each of the listings. A display device displays the multiple listings concurrently in a comparison view via a user interface of the listing platform and also displays an action user-interface component (e.g., a button) in each of the plurality of listings. The action user-interface component is selectable to initiate the action associated with the respective listing. In accordance with the described techniques, the action user-interface component displayed in at least two of the multiple listings is selectable to initiate different actions in relation to the respective listing.

Abstract: Techniques for generating a digital wardrobe are presented herein. A transceiver can be configured to receive a request having a garment identifier and a user identifier. Additionally, an access module can be configured to access a first garment model, access a body model of the user corresponding to the user identifier, and access a second garment model corresponding to the user identifier. Furthermore, a processor can be configured by a garment simulation module to position the body model inside the first garment model and the second garment model, and calculate simulated forces based on the positioning. Moreover, a rendering module can be configured to generate an image of the garment models draped on the body model based on the calculated simulated forces. Subsequently, a display module can be configured to cause presentation of the generated image on a display of a device.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for secure management of personal information data involving storing personal information data in a personal information data block and committing the personal information data block to a personal information data blockchain and authorizing access to the personal information data by a platform entity by storing a platform identifier corresponding to the platform entity in authorized access data. An access request is received from the platform entity that includes the platform identifier for the first platform entity. If the platform identifier is verified to be in the authorized access data, the personal information data is obtained from the personal information data blockchain and returned to the platform entity. In some examples, the authorized access data includes permissions that identify portions of the personal information data that the platform entity can access. In other examples, the authorized access data is secured on an authorized access data blockchain.
