Abstract: Detergent compositions that contain an enzyme, alkaline source, and phosphonate or amine phosphonate salt are described here. A use solution of the detergent compositions containing disclosed phosphonates can retain its enzyme activity for an extended period of time. Specifically, one specific type of phosphonates and another specific type of amine phosphonate salts were discovered to stabilize enzymes in detergent compositions. Solid detergent compositions that contain disclosed phosphonate or amine phosphonate salts are more effective to remove soils and can save production and use costs.
Abstract: Surfactants capable of releasing and/or dissolving polymers to form water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer solutions are disclosed. In addition, polymer compositions containing a water-in-oil emulsion comprising the surfactant are provided and can be used, for example, in methods of dissolving a polymer. Also disclosed are detergent compositions and methods of cleaning articles and/or membranes using the surfactants herein. These surfactants and polymer compositions can be used in various industries including for water clarification, papermaking, sewage and industrial water treatment, drilling mud stabilizers, and enhanced oil recovery.

Abstract: The disclosure provides methods and compositions for coating substrates. A method of coating a substrate may include applying a formulation having a metal cation to a surface of the substrate to form a treated substrate, adding a solution having a biopolymer to the treated substrate, and allowing the biopolymer and the metal cation to react to form a coated substrate. The formulation may be applied to the substrate before the solution is added. A composition may include a reaction product of a biopolymer and a metal cation. The reaction product may be disposed on a coated substrate and the coated substrate may comprise a fibrous material.
Abstract: A method applying a composition to a dryer cylinder is provided. The method includes determining an amount of water to apply onto a surface of a dryer cylinder based on a total evaporation rate of the dryer cylinder and spraying a composition including the water and a coating chemistry onto the surface of the dryer cylinder. Systems for applying composition to dryer cylinders are also provided herein.
Abstract: The present application is directed to creping adhesives. The adhesive forms from a solution/dispersion of a polyelectrolyte complex that is composed of a mixture of one or more cationic polyelectrolytes, and one or more anionic polyelectrolytes. This adhesive complex offers several desirable features when compared to conventional, non-complex adhesives such as improved coating durability, wet tack and tunable coating softness, which are key properties for an adhesive to function as a creping adhesive.

Abstract: A wearable computing device may be used to track the efficacy of one or more cleaning actions performed. The device can include one or more sensors that detect and measure motion associated with a cleaning event. In different examples, the movement data generated by the device can be compared to reference movement data to determine if the individual has cleaned all the objects they were expected to clean and/or if the individual has cleaned a given object sufficiently well. As another example, the movement data generated by the device can be analyzed to distinguish cleaning and non-cleaning movement actions as well as to distinguish different types of cleaning actions during cleaning movement. The quality of each cleaning action can be evaluated. In any configuration, the device may perform an operation in response to determining that ineffective cleaning is being performed, causing corrected cleaning action to be performed.

Abstract: A soil-based coupon having an electronically readable verification code printed thereon is used for verification of soil removal by a cleaning process. The coupon includes a soil overlay covering the verification code. The verification code is at least partially revealed by removal of all or part of the soil overlay during the cleaning process. If the data encoded in the verification code can be correctly decoded after completion of the cleaning process, the cleaning process can be verified. The soil overlay can be designed to match the application. The coupons may be used in a cleaning process verification procedure in which one or more computing devices analyze images of the verification codes to determine whether or not cleaning processes can be verified.
