Abstract: The present disclosure relates to purge fluids, methods of using the purge fluids, and systems to be used for recycling the purge fluids. In some aspects, the purge fluid may be used to clean or purge an automated spray coating apparatus, such as a paint gun. The purge fluid may include a solvent and water. After the purge fluid is utilized for purging or cleaning certain system components, the purge fluid may be treated, subjected to a liquid-solid separation technique, and reused as a purge fluid.

Abstract: A closed loop dispensing system comprises a connector connectable to a container for selectively dispensing the fluids from the container. The connector includes an outer cap having a first passage with an interior surface. The first passage can have variable cross-sectional areas over different regions of the first passage. The connector comprises a plug slidingly movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein, the plug allows passage of fluids present in the container in the open position, and the plug prevents passage of fluids out of the container in the closed position. The plug can have a variable cross-sectional area thereby preventing the plug from being disengaged with the outer cap or sliding out of the connector and into the container.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for biofilm remediation are disclosed. Biofilm is reduced and removed from soiled surfaces by providing to a surface in need an effective amount of a composition comprising a biocidal surfactant and at least one organic solvent. According to the invention, the biofilm remediation compositions reduce and remove biofilm formation by administering a one-step cleaner and disinfectant. The biofilm remediation compositions are stable and effective in concentrated and diluted ready-to-use formulations comprising an anionic sulfated or sulfonated surfactant that is not an organocarboxylic acid, a sparingly soluble organic solvent and optionally a soluble organic solvent.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for improving the effectiveness of colloidal silica. The method involves removing enough charged impurities from the colloid to prevent the charged particles from causing the colloid to become a viscous gel. The method however also involves not removing too many charged particles so the silica material doesn't gel by cross-linking with itself. This method is quite effective because it recognizes that materials that have accumulated during the formation of the colloid do perform an important function, but they can perform better at a lower concentration.

Abstract: Solid rinse aid compositions and methods of making and using the same are disclosed. Solid rinse aid compositions include in a single concentrate composition a pyrithione preservative system to replace conventional preservatives in the isothiazolinone family, such as chloromethylisothiazolinone. Abstract: The invention provides methods and compositions for reducing the malodorous sulfide gas released by a wastewater treatment system. The method preserves the vitality of waste consuming organisms within the system. Abstract: The removal of oxoanions from an aqueous stream having a concentration of a metal cation and a concentration of an oxoanion that varies over time may involve continuously monitoring the concentration of the metal cation and the concentration of the oxoanion to provide a current metal cation concentration and a current oxoanion concentration. A metal cation source and an aluminum reagent may be added to the aqueous stream based on the measured current metal cation concentration and the current oxoanion concentration. The amount of the metal cation source and the aluminum reagent added to the stream may be effective to reduce the concentration of the oxoanion in the aqueous stream below a target threshold.
Abstract: A method for increasing the retention of a scale inhibitor within a hydrocarbon producing system by (i) pre-flushing the system with a liquid; (ii) treating the system with a scale inhibitor; and (iii) over-flushing the system with a composition comprising an ionic polymer and a liquid carrier.
