  • Publication number: 20130264783
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for supplying and positioning fixing elements (8), comprising a chuck (18) that is provided with two spring-loaded stopper parts (1, 2) and that holds one fixing element (8) respectively for further processing. The invention is characterised in that the stopper parts are design as clamping jaws (1, 2) with which an actuation element (3) is associated that reaches between these jaws and that is provided with a narrow section (6) and two neighbouring extensions (4, 5) in an axial direction. Said actuation element is connected to an axial slide (21) for axially moving said actuation element (3), and is used to open and close the chuck (18) by forcing the clamping jaws (1, 2) apart, releasing the fixing element (8) for processing when the chuck (18) is opened.

  • Patent number: 8545152
Abstract: The invention relates to a screw which can be screwed into a component and which will resist further screwing into an internal thread within said component once a maximum torque has been reached. For this purpose, a screw body having an external thread is combined with a screw drive element which projects into a bore within said screw body and, within said bore, is connected to the screw body via static friction. At least part of this combination is made of a plastic material, with the static friction having the effect of a slipping clutch when a maximum torque acts on the screw drive element. The screw drive element is connected to the screw body via a ratchet in such a way that when the screw body is unscrewed from the internal thread within said component, turning said screw drive element will cause the ratchet to engage, thereby entraining the screw body.

  • Publication number: 20130223921
Abstract: The invention relates to a connecting element (1) for a friction weld connection for connecting at least two plate-like components (8, 9), having a centering part (4) for centering and guiding the connecting element (1) subjected to rotation and pressure during penetration of the upper component or components (8) by a mandrel (2), the length thereof being adapted to the thickness of the upper component or components (8). The centering part protrudes as a pin (4, 13 16 18) from a substantially flat cross-sectional area of the mandrel transitioning into the friction weld connection and is formed so short and thin relative to the length of the mandrel that, after penetrating the upper component or components, the material of said centering part softens and the centering part thus practically completely transitions into the friction weld connection.

  • Patent number: 8486508
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a friction-welded connection between a plurality of superimposed flat components held together by a connecting member, wherein a collar of said connecting member rests on an upper component and the front end of said connecting member forms a friction-welding zone with a lower component, said friction-welding zone being produced by rotation and pressure of the connecting member. After formation of the friction-welding zone, the rotation of the connecting member ceases at the end of a first step and, in a second step, upon cessation of the rotation of the connecting member prior to contact of the collar with the upper component, a pressure is exerted on the connecting member by a pressure-applying tool, said pressure pressing the collar against the upper component because of a deformation.

  • Publication number: 20120128446
Abstract: Device for tightened connection of structural parts positioned with distance between each other having a self-cutting screw penetrating an upper and a following lower structural part, and a screw thread engaging the structural parts. The upper structural part is prolonged by longitudinal rails received in recesses in the lower structural part, and an advance bolt is put in advance to the screw. The advance bolt stays in its advance position upon screwing back the screw thereby that a connection element activated by the displaced advance bolt causes a connection between the lower structural part and the longitudinal rails. Thereby both structural parts are kept at the existing distance.
