  • Patent number: 7459196
Abstract: A shielding device with a shielding component (17) forming a shield surface, a heat shield in particular, has a clamping component (1) formed to be integral with the shielding component (17) by an extension. The clamping component is folded onto itself at a bending point (29). Two clamping legs (31, 33) are positioned side by side and form the clamping surfaces facing each other to delimit a clamping gap (35) with one end closed at the bending point (29).

  • Patent number: 7458209
Abstract: A shielding component, in particular a heat shield, has at least two shield components (10, 12) which can be connected to each other by a connection unit (14). Because the connection unit (14) has a guide (16) which enables adjustment of the relative positions of the individual shield components (10, 12) to each other and which is used for fastening in the adjusted position. A sliding heat shield concept arises in which, with a heat shield having several shield components, adaptation is possible on site to the geometrical conditions of engines and their add-on parts including exhaust systems. Effective sound damping and heat insulation can be produced in a wide area with only one shielding component and its shield components.

  • Publication number: 20080292832
Abstract: The invention relates to a structural component in the form of a heat shield, consisting of at least two interconnected structural layers, of which one structural layer (10) has a first type of depressions (14), which is oriented in the direction of the other structural layer, and of which the other structural layer has a second type of depressions (16), which is oriented in the direction of the first structural layer (10), and which is provided at least partially with a perforation or forms the perforation itself. In that the two structural layers are located on top of one another such that the second type of depressions (16) fits at least partially between the first type of depressions (14) and in that the respective structural layer on its side facing away from the depressions (14, 16) has surface regions (30) with a closed surface, a structural component is formed which requires less installation space and still has good noise-insulating and heat-insulating properties.

  • Patent number: 7419531
Abstract: A safety system for prevention of the escape of noxious media, such as explosive gas mixtures and/or ignitable substances, has at least one interception element (10; 30) which at least partly encloses and seals off a potential escape point (12) for the medium. The medium is precipitated onto the interception element (10; 30). Once the medium has been collected, it may be removed from the interception element (10; 30). In this way, both aggressive media and fuel-laden gases may be effectively controlled by safety engineering measures.

  • Patent number: 7418817
Abstract: A structural component, especially a shielding part, has structural parts configured at least in part differently in terms of their superficial extension and/or the direction in which they extend. At least one structural part of a first type (10) is provided. Structural parts of a second type (34) are formed from the structural part of the first type (10) such that hollow section-like receiving channels (36) which are curved in at least two directions are molded into the structural part of the first type (10). The receiving channels (36) in one direction of curvature follow the curvature of the structural part of the first type (10). Thermal components, such as, for example, the curved exhaust lines of the exhaust system, can be accommodated in an integrating manner. Effective thermal shielding and noise insulation is ensured by overlapping.

  • Patent number: 6974137
Abstract: Flat gasket with a gasket plate comprising at least one sheet metal layer, in which fluid passage openings, screw holes adjacent to these and elastically deformable sealing elements enclosing the fluid passage openings are formed. On the one hand, to impede as little as possible sliding movements of the components to be arranged on either side of the flat gasket relative to one another and to the flat gasket, and, on the other hand, to create a fixed point for the assembled flat gasket, the flat gasket is designed such that the gasket plate has for at least a first one of its fluid passage openings in the area of a screw hole adjacent to this opening a spring element which is capable of elastic deformation perpendicularly to the gasket plate, and that the gasket plate has for at least a second one of its fluid passage openings adjacent thereto a screw hole which is without a spring element.
