Abstract: A method for detecting component defects of an analog signal processing circuit, especially for a measurement transmitter. A test signal TS is generated at a first test point TP1 and an associated response signal RS tapped at a second test point TP2 and evaluated in a digital unit. In the evaluation, individual amplitude values of the response signal RS are compared with predetermined, desired values. In the case of significant deviations, a defect report is generated.

Abstract: In a method for calibrating a measuring device, a signal of a first sensor is mapped to a measured value based on a mapping specification. A current measured value of the measuring device is recorded as current calibration measured value; a laboratory reference sample of the measured medium with properties of the calibrated measured value at the point in time of the recording is supplied to a laboratory reference measuring device; the actual value of the measured variable is ascertained based on the laboratory reference sample and made available and recorded as current laboratory reference measured value; and, based on the current calibration measured value, as well as the current laboratory reference measured value, the mapping specification is updated. At least one earlier value pair of a calibration measured value and an associated laboratory reference measured value ascertained in an earlier calibration is considered in updating the mapping specification.

Abstract: A method for monitoring a sensor function by repeatedly acquiring data records including sensor-specific calibration data; by storing the acquired data records; by analyzing changes of the calibration data over time using the stored data records; and by determining time or time weighted with a load factor until the next calibration is due, using at least the changes of the calibration data over time. The resulting time or the determined time weighted with a load factor can, for example, be output in suitable form directly after determination, thereby allowing for a long-term planning of calibration, and/or it can be stored as a date or a remaining time. A comparison with a time signal or a count-down of the remaining time allows at the due date to output a request, or prompt, signal, optionally with a desired lead time.

Abstract: A measurement arrangement comprising a flexible disposable container and a disposable measurement probe for measuring an analytical property of a medium. The measurement probe is mounted on an inside wall of the disposable container and comprises a sensing element extending into the container, which is ready to use and which produces reliable measurement results. The disposable measurement arrangement comprises a closed capsule containing a buffer solution and a tether connecting said capsule to said probe. The container, the measurement probe, the capsule and the buffer solution are sterilized. The sensing element is inserted in the buffer solution during storage and the capsule is removed from the sensing element during measurement operation.

Abstract: In a method for determining a measured variable of a measured medium, wherein the measured medium is brought in contact with an indicator or an indicator mixture, whose absorption spectrum has a first, and a second, wavelength range, which essentially do not overlap, a first light source (6) is activated for emitting a first light signal with a wavelength from the first wavelength range and a second light source (7) is activated for emitting a second light signal with a wavelength from the second wavelength range, wherein the intensity of the first light signal is modulated by a first and the intensity of the second light signal by a second, periodic signal, wherein at least a part of the first light signal and at least a part of the second light signal propagate as first and second measurement light signals along a measuring path and are transformed on the measuring path by optical interaction with the indicator or the indicator mixture to transformed measurement light signals, and wherein a total intensi

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a glass body for a potentiometric sensor, including: loading a first spindle of a glass lathe with outer and inner glass tubes, so that the glass tubes are arranged coaxially with one another and with the axis of rotation of the first spindle, the inner glass tube and the outer glass tube each has a media-side end, and the two media-side ends have defined axial positions relative to one another; loading a second spindle with an auxiliary glass tube, so that the axis of rotation of the second spindle is arranged coaxially with the axis of rotation of the first spindle; moving the auxiliary glass tube to be contiguous with the outer glass tube; fusion joining of the outer glass tube with the auxiliary glass tube; producing a connection between the outer glass tube, or the auxiliary glass tube, and the inner glass tube; removing a remainder of the auxiliary glass tube; producing a media-side opening of the inner glass tube; and forming a media-side edge of the opening.

Abstract: A method for removing chloride from samples containing volatile organic carbon, wherein a chloride containing sample is mixed with a difficultly volatile acid, wherein hydrochloric acid gas arises, which is present in dissolved form in a sample-acid mixture and then the hydrochloric acid gas is purged by a carrier gas from the sample-acid mixture, wherein the hydrochloric acid gas is removed from the carrier gas following the purging and the carrier gas is fed back to the sample-acid mixture. In order during the hydrochloric acid purging largely to suppress the driving out of easily volatile organic compounds, the sample-acid mixture has a temperature of approximately 3° C. to 30° C., wherein, following the purging from the sample-acid mixture, the hydrochloric acid gas is removed from the carrier gas by absorption with water.

Abstract: A system for process automation with a plurality of intelligent sensors, wherein each sensor serves for determining or monitoring a physical or chemical, process variable of a medium and each sensor has a primary side, plug connector element and a secondary side, plug connector element with a sensor element. Energy supply and data communication occurs between the two plug connector elements via a releasable plug-in connector coupling, wherein associated with each sensor is a Web service interface, via which the sensor is connectable to a wide area network (WAN) or to a local area network (LAN). A control unit or a server is provided, which provides at least one software for generating a virtual measurement transmitter, and wherein communication occurs between the virtual measurement transmitter and the sensors via the Web service interface.
