  • Patent number: 8999012
Abstract: A method for controlling the manufacture and certification of an oxygenated gasoline product is carried out by manufacturing a gasoline Basestock for Oxygenate Blending (BOB) at a refinery site in accordance with an empirical relationship, valid for at that site under typical manufacturing conditions, between (i) a property value of the BOB stream such as octane as determined by an on-site online process analyzer and (ii) the corresponding instantaneous value or FPAPV property value as determined by the test method mandated by the product specification for the final gasoline stream when blended with the required proportion of oxygenate. The quality of fit of this empirical relationship is calculated according to the standard deviation of the residuals of the relationship and a confidence level is fixed so that the final oxygenated gasoline formulated with the BOB will meet the required property specification when measured by the test method mandated by the specification.

  • Patent number: 8999254
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for decomposing a body of a deceased person, as an alternative to traditional cremation. The apparatus includes a primary vessel where the body is treated with a highly basic solvent to render the body into skeletal remains and liquid remains. A clamp is applied to the skull during processing for solvent access to the skull. A secondary vessel is used to receive the liquid remains from the primary vessel and further treat them. During this further treatment, the skeletal remains left in the primary vessel after the liquefied portion has been transferred to the secondary vessel, can be treated to be decolorized and deodorized, and then returned to the decedent's next of kin as ash-like material.

  • Patent number: 9000454
Abstract: An electro-optic device and a method for manufacturing the same. The method includes forming a bottom electrode on a substrate, forming a first insulation film crossing over the bottom electrode, forming an organic film on the substrate, forming a top electrode film on the organic film, and forming a top electrode that crosses the bottom electrode by laser-scribing the top electrode film. Herein, forming the top electrode by laser-scribing may position a bottom edge of the top electrode along an upper side of the first insulation film. Therefore, processing required for separately forming the top electrodes may be reduced, thereby simplifying manufacturing processes and saving manufacturing cost. Furthermore, since the insulation film is formed under the top electrode edge, leakage current and device malfunction caused by deformation of the top electrode can be prevented, even though the top electrode edge is damaged during laser-scribing. Thus, electro-optic device reliability can be improved.
