  • Patent number: 7303661
Abstract: A metal coil or an elastic cushion formed by winding the metal coil around a corrosion-resistant frame is sandwiched between an electrode and an electrode collector or a cell wall or is used as an electrode. The elasticity of the metal coil or the elastic cushion enables the easy handling and the uniform contact between the electrode and another electrolysis element. The metal coil or the elastic cushion can be also used as an elastic cathode. The elasticity of the elastic cathode also enables the easy handling of the electrode itself and the uniform contact between the ion exchange membrane and the current collector.

  • Patent number: 7304603
Abstract: A linear FM pulse radar with Doppler processing of co-polarized and cross-polarized radar return signals isolates the target echo signal content associated with a moving pedestrian to provide high quality target echo data for standoff HCE detection based on polarimetric signature analysis. Baseband co-polarized and cross-polarized radar return signals are repeatedly and coherently integrated across numerous successive radar return pulses to create co-polarized and cross-polarized range vs. velocity (Doppler) data maps. The co-polarized data map is used to identify a moving pedestrian, and co-polarized and cross-polarized data subsets corresponding to the identified pedestrian are extracted and subjected to polarization signature analysis to determine if the pedestrian is bearing explosive devices.

  • Patent number: 7302816
Abstract: A computer security lock includes a main housing, a key-operated lock having a lock housing disposed in the main housing and having a lock bar extending movably through the lock housing, and a pair of scissors-type levers. Each lever has opposite proximal and distal end portions, and a medial part between the proximal and distal end portions. The distal end portion has a hook extending outwardly of the main housing to engage a slot in a computer housing. The medial parts of the levers are pivoted to the main housing at a common pivot point. The proximal end portions of the levers are biased to place the hooks in an unlatching position in which the hooks overlap. A cam is moved by the lock bar to extend toward and between the proximal end protions so that the hooks move away from each other. A cable holder extends around the main housing, and a security cable is connected pivotally to the cable holder.

  • Patent number: 7303681
Abstract: A method for separating aromatic hydrocarbons from a feed stream. The method includes flowing the feed stream through a first channel within a first wafer assembly that may contain an underflow distribution weir. Next, the feed stream is exposed to a first thin film polymer membrane. A stream permeates through the first thin film polymer membrane, and the permeate is produced from the first wafer assembly. The retentate is directed via a redistribution channel (such as a tube) to a second wafer assembly that may contain an underflow distribution weir. This retentate is exposed to a second thin film polymer membrane. A second permeate stream is created that permeates through the second thin film polymer membrane. The second permeate stream is conducted into the permeate zone and ultimately produced from the second wafer assembly. An apparatus for separating aromatic components from a feed stream is also disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the apparatus includes a series of tandem wafer assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7300367
Abstract: An assembly for tracking an animal which has been shot by an arrow. A shank portion of an arrow is received in a bushing which in turn receives a housing for a transmitter. The housing is retained on the bushing during arrow flight by an elastomeric ring. Upon impact of the arrow with the animal, the elastomeric ring is dislodged, releasing the housing from the bushing. Associated with the housing are members which penetrate the animal to attach the housing to the animal. A hand-held direction finding receiver receives signals from the transmitter so that direction to the animal is determined.
